  15. Open discussion about issues is to be welcomed but there are ways and ways. Yes it was as someone said a generic reminder. On a public forum I think it is best to stick to the facts as can be proven rather than what can be negatively speculated. As an old boss used to say "Don't come to me moaning about problems, bring me solutions". CC are a tiny company endeavouring to market pretty much the most exciting lightweight road race car of all time with a very limited development budget. It will be close to the limits of design by definition and we have to accept that when we climb aboard. This is not a remote monolith like Ford or GM and as a result every word we post is taken on board in a way that depends on how we say it. It is about the use of language, one can choose words to motivate, include and promote openness or choose them to do exactly the opposite. It really isn't rocket science nor is it about gagging people, it is about going about things in a way that brokers mutual respect and understanding so that we can work amicably side by side each getting as much as we can from the other. Oh dear, accusations of being in their pocket now... Arf! Steve Winterberg Chairman, 07855 846963
  16. Having a perceived problem is one thing and although it is right that any fears should be allayed and any issues resolved as speedily as possible but seeing every word, thought and exchange with a great deal of "what might be" catastophising speculation on a public forum is hardly equitable nor constructive in my view. The only message seen will be the criticism and attention will be drawn to the damage it causes rather then the issue in hand - and it hardly treats the other party with the same respect one is demanding. There have been some posts that I would be very nervous about making no matter how big I thought my complaint or how right I felt I was. I would certainly take considerable umbrage if any of my staff were to be publically accused of posting under a pseudonym. It is a slur on both the individuals involved and the company. Aagin rather than attend to the issue I might also feel a need to put funds aside for legal advisors to prepare a defence against any damage to the company resulting from unfounded public speculation that the company had not performed proper due diligence with it's design processes - a few loose bolts on a couple of cars is hardly worth worrying about when the whole business is publically under threat. Publishing private letters even before the other party has received them is extremely rude and disrespectful. Maybe you are getting what you deserve in return. This is a public forum chaps, every slight, every sarky remark, and every unfounded negative speculation can be read by the world and is being read by staff at Caterham. You know, those people who give up weekends to support Club events, advertise in Low Flying etc. There are many routes to a satisfactory resolution and this is the very worse one I can think of by a long way. The cars are road racers not overdesigned mass produced tin tops. By necessity everything will be nearer the limits of design strength to maximise the power to weight (that we all want) in the Chapman ethic - and occasionally perhaps the limit may be nearer than we would like or expect. That really is what living nearer the edge is like, and as owners we should all very well know we each have to check and double check everything far more often - it is naive to expect otherwise. At the risk of repetition "Please remember, you are responsible for what you post. Don't jeopardise BlatChat by posting something which may be taken as libelous, defamatory or offensive".
