  1. Selling on behalf of my brother... 51 plate Avensis 2.0 GLS, 160k miles, tax and MOT until January only He emigrated this week so the car is parked on my parent's drive in West Sussex. I believe the car has been reliable with no known issues. For sale elsewhere at £800, will accept £500 from a club member. Let me know if you need more information and I'll do my best to answer. Could make a cheap, reliable runabout for someone.

I've always fancied one so I've decided to get a landie. Must be a 90, preference would be a TD5 van but would consider a station wagon at a push. Must be in decent, unmolested condition and I was thinking of spending £10 - £15k. I'm keeping an eye on Pistonheads and have made contact with a few local specialists, but so far there seems to be a few almost new Pumas and loads of old stuff but not much of what I'm looking for. I live in north Essex but would travel within reason for the right car.

    O/T Vespa GTS125

Selling on behalf of my good lady - she bought it this summer in the hope that it would get her in to biking, but it didn't. Consequently it's sat in the garage not being used. Excellent condition with FSH, tax until May, first registered December 2008. 2,430 miles only. Red with the added chrome bits for the GTS model. Brilliant to buzz around on, learner legal. Would make a fantastic Christmas present! Looking for around £2,200. Call on 07919 171493 for more details.
  10. 1998, S reg 1.2, 16V, 85bhp, still does 40+MPG One owner from new Full main dealer history 59,000 miles, with all MOTs, etc to validate Grey metallic Tax and MOT to July 2011 It's got a few knocks and scratches as you'd expect for it's age, but it's been 100% reliable and we're only selling it to make way for a new car Looking for £750 Call 07919 171493 for more details
  11. We've got a built in fridge that's surplus to requirements. Designed to sit under the worktop, standard 600mm width. Make is unknown, as is age, but it was working perfectly when I pulled it out a couple of week's ago. Free to anyone who wants it, or I'll be taking it to the tip. Ideally collect from just outside Colchester or I might be persuaded to help with a local delivery.
  12. I was going to try a new fuel filter - I suspect it's the original one on it. Thanks for the comments.
  13. I'm looking for some ideas here. This happened twice today (on the GNMB), about 120 miles apart! On both occasions I was pottering along in traffic on light throttle when the engine lost all power - it hadn't cut out as when I dipped the clutch it was still running - then after 10 or 20 seconds it died completely. On both occasions I coasted to a halt and she then re-started fairly easily (although it did kick out a bit of smoke) and ran perfectly thereafter. The car had more than half a tank of fuel both times. On the first occasion I'd just driven to Norfolk, stopped for half an hour and was perhaps 2 or 3 miles into the drive back south. Then, about 6 hours later, the car had been sat for a couple of hours at Stow Maries and I was about 10 miles into the drive home. My initial thought was electrics, but I'm thinking that would cause the engine to stop immediately? Could it be some form of fuel blockage? Any other ideas? The car is a 7 year old R300, with some DVA work (including head, Emerald, etc). It had a major service in April (which included the engine coming out) and hasn't been used much since - a few hundred miles I guess - but it's never done this before! Cheers. Steve
  14. A slightly weird problem with SWMBO's fiat. The indicators generally flash one or two times and then stop - exactly the same issue when indicating left or right, or using the hazards. This has only just started to happen - we've had the car for 12 years, from new. Also, it is intermittent with the indicators still working properly on occasion. My initial thought was a dodgy relay or perhaps a problem with the earthing. Any other ideas/ Cheers
  15. Thanks guys. Got a friend (who is rather more computer savy than me) to take a look this morning and we've got it working. Clearly something was different when the laptop was rebuilt. Now just need to remind myself what to do at the MOT centre.... Cheers Steve
  16. How would I do that Dave (apologies if that's an ignorant question). We've never used a USB mouse on this laptop so I'd be surprised if there was a driver for it.....
  17. Okay, I've had another go this evening... Scenario 1 - Emerald loaded, cable connected. Power up the ECU and the blue lights flash on the connector. Click refresh on the 'select port' option and the blue lights flash again, with 'COM3' being the only port found. Click 'OK' but there is then no connection to the ECU. When I look under My Computer nothing is listed for the ECU, etc. Scenario 2 - power up ECU first and then plug in the USB. I then get an 'ATI CATALYST ® Control Center' menu pop up and it flashes all over the place. The mouse doesn't work so I can't cancel it So, does this mean there's something wrong with my laptop? Is there anything else I should be doing to check? I don't have a spare laptop so I can't readily check to rule out this option. (Is there anyone on here close to Colchester who's got a laptop with Emerald on I could check?) Thanks Steve
  18. Thanks Graham Just tried things in that order but it didn't work!
  19. Yes to both I'm afraid!
  20. Probably a numpty question..... It's MOT time again so I was planning to remind myself what I need to do to coax the car through the emissions. My laptop has been rebuilt since last year, so I've loaded up the Emerald software plus the USB adptor - using the same CDs as before. When I hook up the laptop to the ECU I just get errors messages saying there's no ECU connected. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, restarting the laptop, different USB ports on the laptop, and obviously I've checked all the connections a few times . Any suggestions? Oh, and if this could be in any way related, the engine has just been out for a gearbox rebuild.... Cheers Steve

  23. Yes - looks identical to the one I have.
  24. I'm after an axial type starter motor for my 250BHP K series, it needs to fit under the standard 4-1 primaries. Brise don't have any in stock, neither do Caterham. Does anyone have one going spare? Cheers Steve - 07919 171493
