    CAT failing

Many thanks guys. Food for thought. I'll check out the LAMBDA first and find a 7 friendly test station. Interestingly it was tested by a certain Caterham dealer in Mid Cheshire.

Jonathan, I will have them in the archives somewhere but I seem to remember it was 1.7% 12 months ago but will need checking when I'm at home. Was thinking of sounding CC out to hear their views.

How long do we expect a catalytic converter to last? Just had mine in for MOT and the tester informs me that it will not pass next years MOT as it is on the limits now (2% ). Can we adjust mixture settings on the standard set up? Car is an August 2013 1.6 sigma with 4.5K on it. Lack of use could be one reason but it does get used (very hot) when I'm out. Would have expected it to last a bit longer than this. CC replacement nearly £600
  4. I change mine every year with Fords own Formula F synthetic oil and their own filter. I only do a couple of thousand every year though. Would not think necessary to change at a thousand miles.
  5. Checked my Sigma - Brake lights only work with ignition on.
  6. Went to check this morning and everything is fine - working properly. The indicator gremlins have gone to bother someone else.
  7. Thanks Jonathan, I have a meter but not a wiring dia. for the car (sigma roadsport)
  8. Indicators / Hazards do not flash. All bulbs illuminate when switched on with the direction switch and the hazard switch . Is it one of the relays? Done a quick check and all earths appear good. Suddenly happened, one minute fine and working as normal, next time I used them they refused to flash. Any clues or should I just purcase a new relay? Ta

    Very odd speedo

It will most likely be the sensor (Approx. £70)or the air gap requires adjusting. Had the same fault last summer. Presuming yours is not very old so it will have the earth mod already done.
  10. I had exactly the same problem this summer on my 3 year old roadsport. Speedo / odometer stopped working. Rear wheel sensor was eventually found to be at fault. Carried out the earth mod, (probably already done on your car) fitted new sensor and been OK since. The sensor is on the CC website it's just a b*gger to find it. Best part of seventy quid though. As all have said before, the sensor gap is critical and make sure it lights up on each castellation for a full 360 degree turn.
  11. It's a new sensor. Speedo now works fine. Best part of £70 though*smash*

    Schools car

I bought a 1400cc 'classic' in 2013 which turned out to have questionable build quality when it was delivered and I'd had a good nosey about. When interrogated CC admitted it was a schools car but checked by them. It was so bad I rejected the car, with no questions asked they took it back and refunded the cost. It basically need a re-skin. It seems that at the end of the model run they gave the remaining kits to the schools to finish and then sold them as full CC assembled prices. Not pleased.
  13. Thanks John, have checked resistance of lead at 0.4 ohm but not from the connector. Continuity from earth point is good to anywhere on the car. Will persevere!!!!!!!!!!!
