Thanks Jonathan, will give it ago. The battery voltage is 12v volts, have'nt checked during the start. I did try the jump start to try and boost the voltage but did'nt make any difference. It is a bit strange, but i will have a look at your suggestions. Thanks again Dave

I have installed a new Brise starter motor that was purchased from Demon Tweeks due to the old one failing. I have installed the brise item with the new adjustable mounting flange, adjusting to ensure the solenoid is away from the the exhaust primaries. On starting now all I get is the clicking of the solenoid and the with the starter removed you can clearly see that the motor is energised as the gear extends, but does not rotate. I have tried jump startering just in case is was a low voltage issue, but that made no difference. The car is a 1.8Kseries with 240bhp and running of a powervamp battery, not sure whether I have a faulty starter, but if any one has had a similar problem I'd be interested to hear or alternative any thoughts on what I have done wrong? Yes it was me! Didn't dodge storms for too long. We were heading for Lincolnshire by the time we got to market harborough the roof had to go up. We then went through terentual downpours with water going over the roof of the car! Not good to say the least. Journey back today better until we reached stow on the wold. Once again roof up but had water coming through the doors. Spent two hours washing car before putting it in a warm garage to dry out! We're you the gold colour sv travelling south on the a46? Hope you had a good drive? Not sure my wife will ever get in a seven or tent again after this weekend!

It was me out for one of my first proper blats since taking ownership of my new toy! Had been to see my mate in Wotton Bassett, before going for a drive with him in his MG.....Great blat maybe a little more sedated than had I been on my own and without my son in the front seat, never the less great to get out and about. Unfortunately did not see you, but hope you had a good day at Cotswold Airshow? Had been there Saturday and really enjoyed the day, although I suspect you had the better weather?

Apologise the engine had completed 20000 miles when removed for an upgrade and had been running well according to the previous owner. As I said it has not been run by myself and has just been covered in the corner of my garage, with all ports blanked e.t.c.

1.6K Series Engine EU 2 originally bought as a spare/project engine. The engine was bought in 2009 from a club member and never installed. It is complete with inlet manifold and sump,but requires a set of injectors. It is gathering dust in my garage and would perhaps make a good spare or could be broken for parts.
