  1. Hi all, I'm cleaning and re greasing my 420r front hub bearings but can't find the torque settings for the two bolts as in the pic. Anyone know?
  2. Monday, we were on Petrol station in white 420r with aeroscreen.
  3. That's what I thought. Can't do any harm though as the last bit to come out was a bit dirty.
  4. Access is not easy. I've had to take out the entire boot floor which isn't easy to start with as there is some kind of electrical devise bolted to the honey coned floor for the Petrol sender. Oil is now all out and just waiting for the new to be delivered. Interestingly enough, the oil I dropped out was blue and I wonder if it was 75W/140 to begin with... Pretty sure the old spec EP90 is engine oil colour.
  5. Thanks for that guys. I knew about sucking it out from recent threads here but wanted to be sure about the drain/fill holes.
  6. Hi folks, going to change my oil to the Motul 75W/140 on my 2018 420r LSD diff. Having a search around on here the holes seem to differ but what holes are what? I would assume the one with the red circle is for filling and the blue circled one for draining or have I got that completly wrong? Plus, what is the yellow circled one for. I can't see it on mine, the bracket for the floor is in the way.
  7. Sorry for the late reply. I did make my own bracket. A triangle of 3mm alloy and mounted with stainless countersunk screws/bolts to my aeroscreen. Easy job to do and works a treat.
  8. I had the same problem, so I decided to do away with the stem altogether. The result is that I have a perfect rear and much better forward view.
  9. K&N Cone Air Filter RC-9340. Fits 420 & 360, may fit others. New but no box. £40 plus p&p.
  10. Yeah, that was us. We were making the best of the dry day before the rain hit again. I knew about the rear light some days before but forgot to change it. Thanks for the heads up. All done now! Was that you in the blue 7?
  11. Wow, this got technical. So basically, I would imagine that it's all about keeping the footprint/contact patch the same? Anywho, off to Switzerland and the Alps tomorrow for three weeks!! Thanks for all your input guys.
  12. Draught excluder...seriously! FFS. Thought they were for hair dressers. We are real men (with more aches and pains).
  13. The thing is, I phoned Avon motorsport last year for the same reason and they told me a lower pressure than this year, something like 19 rear and 21 front. Hence the phone call this time as I'd forgotten. I might go 20psi all round as I have around 35 kilos of luggage (camping).
  14. I usually run at 18psi all round but wondered what pressure people run at when carrying more weight ie two people and luggage? Avon motorsport have suggested 25psi all round but thought that might be a tad high. 420r shod with zzs's 185 front & 215 rear.
  15. Cheers for that Minty. How do we test if it's the lambda?
  16. Yes, mine has a Lambda. Does anyone know what they're from?
  17. O2 sensor, now that's quit interesting. It never did it before I had the De cat pipe on. Perhaps this has affected the O2 levels?
  18. Minty, I too have the same "problem" if you can call it that. New 420r last year, factory built. It's never idled from new so on start up I just throttle it a for a minute or two and all is fine. Funnily enough, I have experienced it wanting to stall after high revving then coming to a halt. I mentioned it to Oakmere when in for a service but it's still the same... I've learned to live with it. No big deal.
  19. Thanks tmr but I could do with one that hasn't been stuck on.
  20. I have a 2018 420r and mine is the same especially at low speed and hard lock. Oakmere have looked into this and queried this with Caterham. The reply was, more or les "they all do that" and it will get worse. Before I bought mine I took out a 420r and s, they both did it though not quite as bad as mine. When 'pressing on' there are no clunks or knocks at all. Minty, it does play with your mind a fair bit, but as long as it doesn't fall to bits after the warranty just enjoy!
  21. Off on jollies in August.
  22. Just a heads up for a great company that made me a bespoke cover for my 420r. 'Classic Additions' I was struggling to find one which could be used with the aeroscreen. After much searching, I found these guys. They asked me to bring the car over to them so it could be measured. Great bunch of guys who do covers for all marques including f1 teams. . It's a three layer, waterproof and breathable.
  23. 1: yellow with two green stripes down the bonnet. 2: Green and alloy, driver with white open faced helmet on.
  24. I'm after 2 x 6/13 black and silver (Diamond cut) Apollo wheels. Would consider a set of four if price is right. With or without tyres.
