What about The Association of Track Day Organisers, has that ceased to exist? If not, bet they are watching this with interest, if not they should be. Perhaps the club needs to be a member, we do not appear on the list of members on website at present. Malcolm Damn, I had told myself not to enter this debate!
Thanks all. Defo wheel sensor and the light comes on for each tooth. Looks like I have some playing to do over the winter. I also have some concerns over the connection to the speedo unit itself as touching that sometimes causes wobble even at quite low speeds. Might try a small cardboard insert to tighten it up a bit. I do not have a copy of CC workshop notice and I think it may be useful, JK and Gary. JK first perhaps as he posted first. Do you need my personal email for that? Anyway many thanks to both. Cheers for now. Malcolm
Am I being silly? My 2009 R300 has covered some 35000 miles and for most of these miles the speedo has been rock steady. Last couple of thousand and the wobbly needle has struck. Only at higher speeds though. Research on here has lead me to the earth modification. My question is, as it has been working well for such a long time could it be that the existing earth is failing and just needs cleaning etc If that is a possibility, I should like to try it first. So second question is, where is that earth? Thanks
Idea from a numpty sit in car and create noise. Have someone go round the car filming, phone should do. Stay about 1 foot off ground and similar away from car. Go all round and over in hoops again about foot apart. watch and listen to film carefully. You may able to narrow down an area by the changes in sound. Good luck.
I think your plan, 11, is a good one, certainly a cheap option. I would take stat out though, that way you can check its operation on kitchen stove and flush the system both ways. Pressure caps are not too expensive either but I would try flush and stat check first. Nothing worse than curing it and knowing it was one of two or more things! Again, good luck.
I have an R300 D from 2009. I have not had any of the issues above but one word prompted me to post. MUD. When my car had a coolant change after a couple of years, nothing posh just fresh water and pink antifreeze, the drained fluid could very well have been described as mud. Since the change the fluid has remained a pleasant pink colour, and the car runs about 5 degrees cooler. Rock steady under almost all conditions. Does beg the question: has your fluid ever been changed and was there something in the system from new? Good luck.
Thanks. Redline came up with the goods this time. Still had a few in the bag if anyone else is interested. Also some very attentive service from Sevens and Classics, I can see why they have good and growing reputation.
