  1. After checking around for availability vs. perceived weather, 'll propose this as a trip for 2020.
  2. After watching The Grand Tour on the TV the other night, as well as countless prompts from a certain member who lives on an island to our west (!) I'm thinking of putting together a trip around the (now infamous) NC 500. Sure it's a long run up and back, but the roads and the scenery are outstanding. So a day up, three days around and a day back. Most likely in early September after school starts back and preferably during the week so as to avoid crowds. Interested? Drop me a PM and we'll see if we can pull this off....
  3. I could send you a photo of their "sophisticated and cultured company"........

  8. The above clip details our trip last July. Skip to 10:00 and check out the Parador where we'll stay on the first night in Spain, and then the great road we'll take on the second day - all the way down to Portugal! No other traffic in sight! And of you stick around a while, you'll catch some epic weather too! Most of us were running aeroscreens! Mad. [Hehe] Credit to Steve Shaw aka "El Presedente" for the vid.
  9. Further option for partners to fly down to Porto to join us for the four nights in Douro and then fly home. We can arrange for transfer from the airport to the hotel and return. Dave Joint Trackday Organiser Tours Organiser

    Oil

Some conflicting information I've received over the past few months has led me to ponder the oil-type I'm currently using. I have a K-Series 1800 (non-VVC) with forged pistons and some rudimentary porting work on the head. I've been using Millers Oils CFS 10w-60 Competition synthetic oil this summer, on recommendation of a trusted friend. I do mostly fast blats and trackdays with some gentle cruising when the missus in in the car! Are the thinning/thickening characteristics of this viscosity spread appropriate for the car/performance/use? Interested to hear others opinions.....Dave
  22. Check out the circuit guides we've put on the Trackdays site...useful driving tips! Dave

  24. Chris, will an SV (3.53 meters long and 1.685 meters) fit on it ? Thx - Dave
  25. James and I are wondering if the membership would be interested in having the last last track day of the year at Angelsey Circuit probably on a Friday mid/late September. The circuit are offering the track in various configurations for us (to be decided) and are keen to give us a competitive price! Track day diagram here: https://www.angleseycircuit.com/venue/information/circuit-map/ Also, Portmeirion is only an hour or so away which is almost hallowed ground for us so a possible side trip? Anyway - let us know what you think about the venue and date and we'll act accordingly on the numbers....
