  1. Anyone booked for Laon should have received the email. below Having spoken to Keiran (SCT)- it does look unlikely it will go ahead although they are waiting for the French Government for confirmation that the outdoor gatherings ban will go on later than 3rd April. Any questions Keiran or James are on hand and they encourage you to call either of them on the number below (Keiran Line is our main contact ) Chris From: James Wickenden Sent: 16 March 2020 12:18 To: SCT Administration <admin@sceniccartours.com> Subject: Laon Historique 2020 - IMPORTANT UPDATE Good afternoon Following our balance reminder email last week we have understandably had a couple of calls regarding the likelihood of the event proceeding during the ongoing COVID-19 situation. We have contacted the Laon Historique Organisers today who confirm they are still planning to run the event on the current dates unless instructed otherwise. The current official statement from the Laon Historique Organisers is still: Association de la Montée Historique de Laon states that: Appropriate authorities have not informed us of the need to postpone our 29th Circuit Historique de Laon, on 30-31 May and 1st June 2020 In the event that we would not be able to go ahead with the event, Association de la Montée Historique de Laon would reschedule it to a later date in 2020. However we understand the ever changing situations across the world and would like to delay your Laon Historique balance until April 2nd 2020. At this point we will then re-access the current situation and update you all accordingly once again. We trust this information is of use, and if you have any other questions please let us know. Kind regards, James Wickenden Sales and Operations Manager Direct Telephone: +44 1732 879171

  9. We are heading for the second year to this wonderful event in Northern France on the 7th - 10th June . We start with a gathering of cars and clubs on the Friday in Bethune before heading to Laon where all of us are staying this year in either the IBIS or Campanile. Members from Belgium and Northern France are staying near by ready for the main event the next day Saturday is the rally day, meeting at a central point for breakfast we head off for the days blat around the countryside stopping for lunch ( provided) before heading back through the countryside to Laon for a party finish with refreshments. (Last year lunch stop was Chimay race circuit when after a picnic lunch and a beer we 'played' on the circuit) . Sunday is the day we spend in Laon driving the streets including a hill sprint with some lovely bends. Monday there is an option for another shorter rally or a dash to the port. this video takes you through the two days from last year - and you may see some familiar cars and faces among those taking part :-)http://www.circuit-historique-laon.com/en/english-photos-2018/ - this is the official site with all the photographers images and gives you a good flavour of the variety of cars and the general atmosphere. again you may see some familiar faces :-) Personally I loved the event for its informality, the carnival atmosphere created by the organisers and the enthusiasm of the local population - and we will be back this year Kieran will be pleased to help you with the booking and the various options of crossings you can call him on: Direct Telephone- 01732 879172 : Mobile - 07786 968149 or email: kieran.line@sceniccartours.com Don't forget to mention the Club to get your 50 quid members discount :-) For more details of the event and itinerary please go to: http://www.sceniccartours.com/lotus-7-club-tours/4594080529 Christine
  10. This event on the 23rd - 25th June is filling up with 38 confirmed - that leaves us with just 2 rooms in the village and 7 rooms in the castle still up for grabs. We stay in the village for 2/3 days – the choice is yours. Each evening we dine in a private room either at the hotel or the castle. During the day there are plenty of choices of activities in the local area as well as spending time in the village and gardens. This year Dave has arranged with the Snowdonia GP Karting circuit for a Le Mans style endurance (2 hours) team event with the opportunity at the end to take our sevens onto the circuit in return for a donation to their charity. We will also have the opportunity to put on a street parade (Three video clips from 2017 and 2018 below) on the Tuesday morning and after the village closes for day visitors you can take your car to be photographed in some of the iconic spots in the village. The event’s organiser for the village said of our first visit: "Light, agile and super cool, it was a delight seeing so many of these iconic cars making their way through such a beautiful location.” And last year Mad Malc was recruited by the village to be a camera man for the ITV series to be screened this spring Just drop me an email for more information - chair@lotus7.club Be seeing you! 13. Hi Chris You might try our international network club in Sweden - see link on Sweden in area groups - they probably have experience of all the countries in that area they could share with you. In fact they have an annual gathering, I believe September time that you could even make a target. They hold this every year and are keen to hold an international gathering there maybe 2020 ...... Wouldn't it be It would be great if the Newcasle - Bergan ferry was still operational ! When we went a couple of years ago - it was Hull Rotterdam - up to Rostock for the ferry to Trelleboug - certainly doable but a bit of a slog ! Chris
  14. I would be delighted to have such sophisticated and cultured company such as yourself and Mrs Long ...... Chris
  15. We return to Portmeirion on the 23rd– 25th of June for what has become our annual homage to the association between the Lotus 7 from the cult TV series The Prisoner and the village. It was a Series 2 Lotus Seven that was driven by Patrick McGoohan in the opening titles of the television series however in the final episode, “Fall Out”, it was replaced by a series 3 disguised as the original, as it had been sold during the filming. Graham Nearn drove the car to the set for the final episode to be shot and found himself recruited as an extra. He can be seen dusting off the car and posting the keys through McGoohan's letter box, prior to the hero's arrival. We stay in the village for 2/3 days – the accommodation ranges from the main hotel to the castle or houses in the village – the choice is yours. Each evening we dine in a private room either at the hotel or castle. The maximum number of people we can take is 60 and we have 30 rooms allocated to us. Below you will find a list of rooms and the 6 room reservations already made! Drop me a PM or email to reserve yours stating which room you would like ( or a map of the village if you are not sure) – first come first served!
