  1. try a kevlar/mls gasket or even standard - the mls ones i imagine you are on about really demand flat clean surfaces which arent always the easiest things to guarantee
  2. stick with beru, very pricey, but very good on this engine
  3. they do look lovely, but is it 1 piece alloy? this must inherit stress differences surely with the different materials used the steel slotted flys are at least 1 piece if i am wrong correct me cos i havent actually held a fidanza fly, only seen pics of mates ones
  4. well since they are higher poundage they wont compress as much under the weight of the car what we do is take all the details of the current spring and how much lower the owner wants the car to sit then a suitable length of spring is made to the correct poundage...its invariably a smaller spring required for a higher poundage, hence your problem. if its 30mm higher, get 30mm smaller 250lb springs i guess Edited by - 16vastra on 13 Nov 2004 17:55:16
  5. fidenza i take it. they have a load of applications, but arent worth the money really. i will have a look in the book when i get back to work monday, but i havent seen a x16xe flywheel. to be honest i would just get a slotted steel flywheel and use a 7.25" clutch, even tho you dont want to, its the way to go! i do 3kg ones for the 20xe, they are quite nice and if you manage to get a 2nd hand clutch setup you will end up paying around the same as the fidenza, but have a much better setup overall.
  6. yeah i deal with farndon, they are good, but as above they prefer people to order in larger quantities
  7. i had a slightly corrupt map upload once, as soon as throttle was pressed it died. did same as you to fix it. glad you got it sorted steve

  10. yeah, seen the starter 'flick' the bolt free when the engine has been in the car before now also if you cut the head off the thread is finger tight (apparently lol)
  11. i know 3 people with them on vauxhalls (xe and let) and they are very nice indeed. done as small group buy from america i think as it was a fair bit cheaper. no problems as far as i know, they do their job.
  12. he's kindof busy and steers clear of 1offs due to time and cost, but if theres a few people wanting a cf item he will get round to it yeah
