    420R New Build.

OK Sorted - operator error....! I put the 6mm ring brown to chassis Earth, not connecting it to the solenoid. D'oh... Still doesn't feel right really tightening the adaptors into the calipers though. Will also try new (Smaller) copper washers as well. Thanks All, Gra

    420R New Build.

Evening All, Just getting to the interesting bit of building a new Cat. Done all the checks in the book, filled with water and Oil etc, connected the battery and....... nothing...! Given the quality of the build manual and my ability, I am sure I have just missed something off or not RFTM properly. Right now however, I have a fully charged battery and a dead car. I have tried the inertia switch - resetting a few times. Checked general wiring and it all looks OK. Battery connected, no lights, no ignition, nothing. Suggestions gratefully received. In other news, both big brake front calipers leaking where the adaptor goes in. just how tight do they have to be? Thanks, Graham
  3. Came up behind in the red SV earlier today just by the Oatlands Chase turnoff. Nice day for a blat - quite warm really...! Hope you had a good drive? Graham Red SVen
  4. Grub / Steve / Hugh Thank you all so much for your interest and replies - much appreciated. Best regards Graham Red SVen
  5. I have a right old rattle going on when I start from cold - sounds like tappets - goes with engine speed - gets worse on overrun. Practically disappears when warm after about 2-3 minutes of running. Can anyone please give me a steer before I start taking large bits of engine apart - is the K Serise 1.8 prone to tappets / cam / something giving up? It's an SV on an 04 plate with about 10k miles on the clock. Thanks for your help, Gra Red SVen
  6. I was going the other way with my wife, in a tin-top - great day for a French blat. Red SVen

  13. Saw a CSR at Box Hill a few weeks ago and it had little aerodynamic 'winglets' on the side quarters of the nosecone. Anyone know if they would fit onto my SV nosecone or where they come from? (They did look quite cool...!). Gra.
  14. Saw you as I came out of Sainsbury's (Sad I know) Sunday PM. You were parked in the Bus layby.... 😬 Purple on an 05 plate, black wheels - very nice!
  15. Going northbound, hood up, around 7:30am. I was in Passat going southbound wishing I was in my SV (I would have had the roof off however...!) Red SVen
