  5. Hi John Many thanks for the help, I am at CC in Dartford as I type, and it's being Looked at so I'm hoping someone will be telling me shortly what the problem Is/was and that it's fixed. Keeping my fingers crossed. Will update shortly Cheers Russ
  6. It was a private purchase in the end with no warranty, I normally use Taylors motorsport in Haverhill to look after my past Caterham's, but they are a bit of drive to get to, i'm at Brands on Wednesday so was hoping to try a few things to see if there is a simple fix. Cheers
  7. Hi John, To be honest, I don't know if my wiring is okay or not, it seems to look alright at the tps end but I cant trace it to the other end, i'm not very good when it comes to the electrical side of things. I thought I would replace the coil towers as they are easy to do, but if i'm honest I don't think they are the problem. Is changing the TPS just a case of plugging in a new one or do they need to be set up? I don't suppose I could give you a call to discuss? Many thanks Russ
  8. Hi all, Im having a few probs with hesitation etc as on my other post, was going to start by replacing the coil packs before I do the TPS, as I think they are easier to replace and go from there. Can anyone tell me what I need to buy and where I can get them from other than going to CC? I have a R500 Duractec. Many thanks Russ
  9. Thanks for that, will have a look when I get home, will it be obvious If the wiring is knackered?
  10. Thanks for the info, so do you think I can start buy Just changing the TPS, (the t piece plastics bit) sorry I'm not Very technical
  11. Also can anyone post a link to where I can get one. I have a R500 Duratec. Many thanks
  12. Yes, that what it's like hitting the limiter before its there, thanks for that, I couldn't put it In words. What do I need you look at, is there something I can do to check tps etc? Many thanks Russ
  13. Hi all, Anyone got any ideas on the problem I'm having? I have a r500 duratec and at Snetterton yesterday the car was Hesitating at high revs, particularly in 5th, it seems to cut of and on Very quickly on a steady throttle when cornering and also A few times really cuts out / stalls half way through the revs. The trouble is its all bit intermittent, I had changed the plugs So not that, anyone else had anything similar???
  14. I, 2nd the Yoko's A048, use both on road and track, wear very well and cheaper than the Avon's.
  15. Hi, I'm running 263 burps r500, and have solid discs fitted And it stops on a pin, Cheers

    Avon zzr

Hi all, what's people experience of the zzr tyre? I've just bought a car with them fitted and seem to be struggling to Get heat in them on the road, do they take a while to warm up. Normally run A048 which heat up quick. Cheers
  17. Momo Suede steering wheel bought from Caterham, used for around 1000 miles, looks almost new. Was fitted to my K series R400, pre drilled to the K series boss. £70 plus P&P
  18. Thanks for that, just read the hand book and states Optimum water temp 110 Makes me shudder coming from a K series
  19. I couldn't hear if the fan was kicking in as I had a crash hat on, was going to test later that the fan is actually cutting in. Do the temps i've quoted seem high?
  20. Hi all, Just picked up an R500 Duratec, driving back today, the car was running at a water Temp of around 90, which I though was a little high, but its hot out there, but when I was in traffic it was creeping up to 104/05 which put the willys up me to say the least... Is this normal running temps? I appreciate its a very hot day. Ive come from a K series so the Duratec is all new to me. Cheers Russ
  21. I've still got the 400k, Caterham have offered me 22k for it, But if there any better offers??
  22. Thanks for the input guys, well I pulled the trigger today and now own a R500 Duractec with Sequential box, should pick up early part of next week. Looking forward to getting it on a track.....
  23. Looking for people thoughts and experiences really, I currently have a R400 K series used mainly on the track, Today I test drove a R500 Duractec with Sequential Box, I really enjoyed the car and loved the gearbox, I was on the road so couldn't really give it the beans, but i'm sure its there..... Now my K series engine is very Zingy, light on the throttle which seems to make the car feel very light and responsive etc. After driving the Duractec i'm not sure if its me but I kept thinking the front end was heavier on turn etc and the throttle response seemed like I needed to be firmer. Im thinking the R500 will be great on the track, but I have a little niggle thinking I may miss the characteristics of the K series, but then I think once I get the R500 on the track with the Sequential box I just wont look back. Anyone else been through something like this??? Cheers Russ
  24. I carry a plastic nozzle from a small plastic petrol can in the boot and just a bit of tape on it to stop it slideing around, Put this nozzle in to the filler and the petrol pump into the nozzle, works a treat. cheers
