  1. Hi, has anybody got an old mechanical speedo gathering dust on the shelf ? I have an '85 S3 with Smith's instruments. Thanks. Phil B (7 at last)
  2. Just a short FYI, if your cars have dedion rear ends or a disc brake converted live axle, then you will need to install a bracket in/under the tunnel to hold the new outer cable so you can connect to the existing inner cable. The bracket needs to be pretty stiff as the tension in the cable due to the more mechanical advantage of the underdashe lever is pretty high. i had to go through this for my disc braked live axle car, it is not pretty and it works after a fashion, but i wouldn't leave the car parked on a slope!! 3. As it says, lowback GRP race seat, with shark's fin and cutouts for lap straps. This is a bare seat bought off E-bay last summer, with a view to get a bit more legroom in my short cockpit car, but decided I'd try an S type instead. Phil B (7 at last)
  4. Sounds good, although I am currently running a 3.6 diff, but as I am looking for a spare it fits the bill. My only problem will be arranging a pick, can we sort out via BM? Thanks Phil B (7 at last)
  5. Hi I'm interested in the Ital axle, I assume it is complete, what diff ratio is fitted? Thanks Phil B (7 at last)
  6. Dave, thanks for the feedback on the brakes.
  7. Hi Dave, I noticed that you had Hi-Spec 4 pots on standard discs, I am think of going this way myself to lose some weight at the front of my 85 live axle with Zetec (I have princess iron 4 pots at present). How were the brakes compared to standard ?? Thanks Phil B (7 at last)

    Brake Calipers

Thanks for the Hi-Spec suggestion. I have taken a look at their website and the pictures look nice, but so far I haven't seen any fitted or heard any feedback of how well they perform compared to the AP or Alcon items, so Iwas taking the consevative approach and sticking to the known products. Brake Calipers

Hi, I am looking for a front brake upgrade to lose some weight, i'd like a set of alcons but funds are limited. Does anyone have a pair of Alloy calipers. I have 13" wheels and standard discs. Thanks, Phil Phil B (7 at last)
  10. Hi dave, have you sold the seats yet? I may be insterested. Are the seat cushions removable (ie lift out from seat)? I have an 85 LA std cockpit car and my seats are quite bulky which limits my leg room and the later seats seem to have a slimmer profile. Thanks Phil (west sussex) Phil B (7 at last)
  11. Hi, I'm having some problems sorting out the routing/fixing points for the handbrake cable. I have an under dash handbrake, the axle is Ital with discs. Does anyone have a similar set-up? If so, any chance of some pictures of what goes where? Thanks, Phil B (7 at last)
  12. Thanks for the suggestions, I will have to visit softbits sometime to see what they have. Apothecary, I am stil interested in the standard rollbar if its still available, how can I contact you to sort out a deal? Phil B (7 at last)
  13. Hi John, I'm taking the FIA bar off because the hood sticks won't go past it without unbolting them, as they foul on it. So I will end up with a saggy hood, which isn't attractive at my age! Phil B (7 at last)
  14. Hi, new to this Blatchat game. Thanks for the offer, I'll give caterham a call to find out whether it's a straight fit or if I will have to make up some sort of adapter. Getting to bracknell ought not be a problem, I'll get back to you soon. Phil Phil B (7 at last)
  15. Hi, just joined and got a 7 at last. It's an '85 short cockpit car and I'm looking for a standard Rollbar and tonneau for everyday road use, to replace the FIA bar and petty strut (sorry these won't be for sale, I will need them for track days). Has anyone got something suitable? Phil B Phil B (7 at last)
