Paul, Many thanks, I have blatmailed you with my details. Mark, I realise that they are different and my trailer is about 7 years old. Unfortunately me and my trailer are not in the same part of the country - hence need the power of blatchat Many thanks, Peter

Can anyone tell me the PCD for a Brian James Minno trailer - is it 4" or 100mm ? If anyone has the full specification (i.e. axle, brakes etc) and could email it to me I would be really grateful. I need to sort out some new wheels and tyres and can't easily access the trailer. Many Thanks, Peter PS And yes I have asked Brian James, who weren't that helpful.

Hmmm, I'm not too sure that BJT would be that helpful. I don't intend to pay their prices!!! Peter

Hello all, What is the PCD of the wheels on a Minno trailer? 4" or 100mm I am about to order some new wheels and I need to know!!! Ta, Peter

Anyone know the nose weight of a Minno trailer (or even better Minno Shuttle), with Caterham of course! I am thinking of getting a VW Passat as my next car and I wondered about the trailer nose weight (85kg). The 4motion Passat will pull 2000 kg. Thanks, Peter

Alex, Careful heating with a hot air gun on the lower setting worked for me. Good luck. Peter Edited by - pjh on 4 Apr 2007 21:56:48

GB, Oh how I laughed - I do own a Caterham, a very much modified x/flow! I thought that the good and wise of blatchat (who have helped me out many times before) might have some suggestions. Perhaps not, I'll just move over to exiges.com 😳. Cheers, Peter

Greetings from sunny Nottingham . I want to protect my Exige during the winter - it isn't garaged, but is parked in a secure off-road area. Something like the Carcoon seems ideal, but I don't have access to external power - and as the place is rented, fitting an external socket isn't an option. Anyone run one from a large battery ? Anyother suggestions ? Thanks, Peter

Oil hose and fittings - Are any better than others?
pjh replied to Ian Macquarie's topic in TechTalk
Ian, I used Earls on my x/flow dry sump installation. Partly because the counter service is based as Silverstone and was very convenient for me. Mine are braided (and look lovely ) but they strip skin off knuckles, paint off the chassis etc. Cheers, Peter Edited by - pjh on 2 Dec 2005 14:22:51 -
Ian, I dry sumped and added a laminova about three years ago (Well, I didn't Ratrace did). The oil tank in in front of the passenger footwell and the remote filter is below the carbs. The laminova is plumbed into the return to the dry sump tank. If you send me an email I will try and send through some pictures. Cheers, Peter PS Dave, I believe that you know a man called Colin who works for Encore - an Energy Consultancy. A very good friend of mine.

Tyrone, Oops, I must learn to type properly . I guess you could try pre-heating the oil but this would be quite difficult - esp. as the coldest parts are probably the remote filter housing and the oil lines. Ian, Yes it is a laminova type - bought from Think Automotive. Cheers, Peter

Ian, The oil cooler is on the scavenge (return side). Its is plumbed into the radiator top hose and works really well - its been fitted now for three years and does a great job. Tryone, I wonder whether the current low temperatures (i.e. leading to even thicker oil than usual) and the oil cooler are leading to the same problem that I had. I was interested in Roger King's comments my problem stating that start-up oil pressures can be 10 bar . What oil do you use ? I use Vavoline Racing. Cheers, Peter

Tryone, I have had this problem (well remebered Seven-Up ). In my case it was due to using 20-50 Oil with the smaller Mocal Oil Cooler. The back pressure on start-up was sufficient to blow the seals on the oil filter, once the oil was warm there was no problem. The solution was to fit a larger oil cooler - since this has been done I've not had a problem. Is your car fitted with a dry sump system ? The thought of a leak free cross-flow - now that is a challenge Cheers, Peter PS Baby Bucket = pjh

Oz, Thanks for the reply, its a Nissan Murano. My last two cars have been Audis (manual rather than auto). The first was fine (A4 Avant), but the second was a complete dog (Allroad) and I got fed up of the dealer service. Thanks again, Peter

No, I am not thinking of the latest upgrade to Baby Bucket 😳. I have recently acquired a car with a CVT automatic and it can roll back when on a hill even when it is in Drive (conversely it can roll forward when in reverse) Is this normal - I know that I should ask the dealership, but I am concerned that all I'll get is the "They all do that, Sir". Thanks, Peter PS Is the fact that I now like a car with a CVT transmission a sign of an inverse mid-life crisis 😬 Edited by - pjh on 8 Nov 2005 12:50:06
