  1. Pleased you're OK Ian, methinks you are quite correct sir, full rollcages are perhaps the best option, especially for Shelsley where an off is an OFF!!! *eek* Hope to see you soon Pete
  2. 2nd dibs on wheels and tyres if not sutable for jakeandlizzy 😬 😬 😬 Cheers Pete I plan to live for ever...so far so good!!!
  3. *wavey* *wavey*Hi All I am after some 13" anthracites, 6" fronts 8" rears if you have a set cluttering up your garage *cool* Need to be in good condition, tyres ideally something that would be good for road and track, Toyo 888's would be good 😬 😬 😬 Cash waiting and burning hole in pocket [quick before SWMBO finds a "BETTER" use for the dollars Pete I plan to live for ever...so far so good!!!
  4. Thank you all, mystery solved 😬 😬 😬 Just one final thought, does anyone know whether the abs wings nose etc advertised on fleabay are lighter than the grp ones, perhaps a middle ground between grp and carbon and probably a tad cheaper??? Pete I plan to live for ever...so far so good!!!
  5. Hi Simon The problem seems to be the height of the nose, the internal dimension top to bottom in my grp one is greater than the carbon one by about and inch i.e. if you place the noses side by side the profile is fine, from the upper dzus faster over the headlight stay recess and to the point the nose curves down, however the cutout for the bottom wishbone starts an inch higher than on my grp one 😔 😔 😔 Pete I plan to live for ever...so far so good!!!
  6. Tanks Epimetheus But my academy is a 55plate and my friends superlight is an 02, so do i have the new version? On viewing the s3 nosecone on CC you can clearly see the recesses on the bottom edge, but not on the carbon nosecone for the s3....I'm all confused *confused* Pete I plan to live for ever...so far so good!!!
  7. On trying to lose a few more pounds from my S3, which is an ex Academy, I have tried fitting a carbon nose, the problem I have is the nose on my car appears to be taller than the standard S3 carbon one, from an 02 Superlight about an inch i.e. from the top of the cutout for the bottom wishbones to a line from the top of the aluminium side skin is about 11" as opposed to the carbon nose which is 10" Also, the bottom of my friends nosecone [the bit that tucks up underneath to the bottom Dzus plates is smooth, mine had two recessed channels which align withthe dzus plates Anyone else had a problem like this 🤔 🤔 🤔 or better still a solution *thumbup* Regards Pete I plan to live for ever...so far so good!!!

If so I would like to buy it ...I know its bit girly and real men don't need them and its not adhereing to Colins fine principles and its gonna add precious tenths to those all important times ☹️ but its early morning blat time and going over the Peak without it is bloody cold and I'm nesh 😳 😳 😳 Cheers Pete I plan to live for ever...so far so good!!!

  17. I have used socket cap bolts, so i can get an allen key in them whilst turning from underneath the key usually stays in the screw so after half a turn it hits the runner/seat and you don't need to have arms like an ape to hold it I plan to live for ever...so far so good!!!
  18. I have, so would I need to 'level' the car up again
  19. Thanks Guys, just one final question, what about 205/50's on the rear and 195/45's on the front, any ideas what that may do for handling or ride comfort? One concern is having moved from 175/55 13's I am thinking the 45's might be a tad firm and given I have tillets as well, the ride to europe in june could be a bit of a bone shaker but with the 205/50's on the rear this might improve comfort The stats below show that the 205's won't fit under the front arches as I still have the 13/14" stays and wings but the 195/45's do, but the 205's should easily fit the rear arches. I think I read somehere the slightly nose diving setup this would give may improve handling, but am not sure so would much appreciate any advice Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/km Difference 175/55-13 96mm 261mm 523mm 1642mm 609 0.0% 195/45-15 88mm 278mm 556mm 1748mm 572 6.5% 205/50-15 102mm 293mm 586mm 1841mm 543 12.1% I plan to live for ever...so far so good!!!
  20. POBC I am in need of wisdom, which of the scudo's should I fit to my 15" wheels 🤔 and probably more importantly why 🤔 🤔 🤔 195/45 195/50 205/50 to be used in anger in the sprint championship *evil* I plan to live for ever...so far so good!!!
  21. Try drilling a small pilot hole in the gearknob, tapping it and inserting a grubscrew to tighten up the the stick, or 2 if you have a large gap to fill, if you do it from the dash side they won't be seen *smokin* I plan to live for ever...so far so good!!!
