  1. I’m in the process of changing my nose cone, rear wings and cycle wing's (they look fantastic) and have pondered the best way to protect carbon fibre components. After seeing Joachim Westermans carbon after 18 months of racing around Europe they don’t look to bad, a very light sanding and a re lacquer will have them in top shape again. You could also consider Armourfend for that less discreet look. pee wee

    Cycle Wings

I’m about to fit carbon cycle wings, do I have to fit the side repeaters as a legal requirement? pee wee
  3. Me and the spider were right, the nice man from Caterham he said "Mechanical problem with the fuel pump” and replaced it on the spot, so I was able to chase the sun to bed tonight. Thanks to all who dropped me a line or two. Pee Wee! pee wee
  4. That's it then! I'm off out to the garage to throw every "bleeden" switch before I throw the "bleeden" Caterham After a long conversation with the spider in the corner of the garage we've decided that the fuel pump isn’t priming. Hopefully Caterham of Dartford can collect the car in the next few days, if not then you’ll see me pushing it along the M25 to the QE Bridge from Aylesbury. I like tomato soup and I have tea with milk no sugar. I have to or I'll ☹️ Cheers all, Pee Wee.............
  5. Nigel, Cheers for that, to tell you the truth I think I'll be better off with my 1:18th JPE and a few beers.....Pee Wee
  6. Sorry all!! Thanks for the support and advise but I'm spent! Stil no joy The car will have to depart for Dartford. Thank's again Pee Wee..
  7. Cheer's Arnie, I'm off to the curry house for a take out and will sit in the garage pondering the meaning of life. Will also check your suggestion. Must be sad I'm sat here waiting for replies... pee wee
  8. Now then Blatters!!!! Cos you sure aint chatters……..I have been sat close to tears now for over a week. I have expended all my avenues and still no starting the dam thing. Caterham have sent the new ECU and immobiliser no joy. I have tried the fuel inertia re-set, no Joy. I’ve had the battery checked and fully charged, no joy. I’ve checked the ECU and Fuel pump fuse, no joy. I’ve just been trying the fuel option; yes there is some in the tank. I’ve removed the fuel pipe from the front (nose cone end) taken off the air filter and started to turn her over; no fuel, is there another way to check for fuel? Any other checks I could carry out? So even if you gust say, “don’t cry” please help me in my hour’s of need before the car goes to Dartford for a week or two… cheer’s mine’s a large one, hell make it a double pee wee

    Battery?

The Caterham was working fine two weeks ago and then started to play up. I’d been starting to have a few problems with the immobiliser, having to re plip it a second time before it would start. Eventually I ran the battery down trying, so I had it re charged and started again, I went through all the re-set the plip and fuel inertia re-set checked the fuses but still no joy. Contacted Caterham and they sent me a new ECU and Immobiliser and plipers, have fitted them tonight and still no joy. Could it be possible that the battery is up the swanny? pee wee

    Nurburgring

I'm off to the Ring on Sunday as I only live an hour and a bit away at Ramstein Air Base. The sound of the marque on full song being preferable to the constant drone of aircraft overhead. I been on the halo'ed tarmac a few times but not in the Seven, its a Roadsport 1200 miles new and yet to be used in anger 😳 Info on tyre pressures for the day would be greatly appreciated, or any other things I might want to consider. pee wee
  12. BW, I've had the same kind of problem, it happened when I was making a routine inspection of the peddle box area and droped a screw down into the bell housing. Removing the rubber cover on top of the bell housing with metal clip inside didnt help, but removing the starter motor and 1 1/2" ally billet spacer did. I used a strightened coat hanger with a smashed up bit of fish tank glass cleaning magnet..... After collecting the offending little *mad*ard I was well chuffed. I wish you well, kinda took me back to "hook a duck" as a kid at Goose Fair Nottingham. Just a thought, is the offending object metalic of lead pee wee
  13. Cheers to all!! Betty now has a charger and I,ll be looking into the diff!!!! Pete pee wee
  14. I collected my pride and joy (1600 K Roadsport)on the 26 October 2002, and duly put 500 miles on it for its first service; Great no problems, service done and I'm on my way. Another 500 miles away at Ramstein Air Base in Germany and I'm home! The trip went well Calais to Metz, all toll road a good steady 70 mph was maintained. Over the past few months I've put another 500 miles on Betty's clock ( rain or shine, used daily for the 12 mile round trip to work) Last week I put Betty up on the ramp at work to have a good look around and spotted a small drop of oil on my Diff I cleaned off the offending droplet only to find two days later it has returned Question 1 normal / seek assistance or monitor 🤔 Have now been on festive leave for a few days and fancied a spin, went into the garage and the battery is flat as the local run-way 🙆🏻 would someone please reassure me that I'm not going to be isolated in the land of the Hun with problems around the corner 🤔 ta very much pee wee
  15. Like Bruce W, Im also an expectant 7owner, late October. In answer to the inital topic you could allways follow my lead, join the RAF get posted to Germay, they put bugger-all salt on the roads just loads of sand and stones, so Ive got a re-spray to look forward to... pee wee
