    welding ?

Its easy enough if you are a good welder with TIG I have done this loads of times at work and at home If you use 5% silicone filler rods you should have a strong weld that will resist cracking Paul. See My Car Here

  10. The best test to see if the valve is properly lapped Is to use Oily's method but use engineers blue you only need a spot the size of a pin head and rotate the valve 370 deg anymore and you could be covering up little imperfections in the lapping After you have finished wash the head and all components grinding paste CAN cause a valve to stick in the valve guide with all the cost that goes with a bent valve Paul. 11. The main differance will be the engine position and the engine mounts Caterham engines tend to sit a little further forward in the chassie I can weld up engine mounts for you if needed If you need as much ground clearance as posiable you may want to dry sump the engine but this does not gain much compared to my Zetec I measured it wet sump on the Zetec and dry sump on the Duratec and I gained a full 16mm ground clearance [i have lifted my engine and gearbox a little and the lowest part for the car is the chassie rails and gearbox hoop] From a money point of veiw I hope your not faint harted Paul. 12. I am in Cleethorpes and have a Westfield and have changed from a Zetec to a Duratec with the SBD 233 kit 07970 916076 Paul. See My Car Here
  13. I can weld it up for youif you post it/bring it to me DN350SN Paul. See My Car Here
  14. I still say the air temp should measure the temp of the air and not a fair bit of conducted heat/temp from the engine block as it has to affect the ECU settings This is more important if you are sprinting your car just feel the heat soak from the block into all the other bits of the engine. Paul. See My Car Here
  15. Is the air temp sensor in the air filter back plate If so move it To the bulkhead The trumpets on my engine get hot and the back plate also warms up so this would fool the air temp sensor, the bulkhead is as good a place as any Paul. See My Car Here
