  1. Ahmed, Or from here: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-511032 Phil
  2. Grass cut, wood chopped, brakes repaired but eventually found time to drive in the sunshine. The light is out.. :) It appears it just needed to dry out. Phil
  3. I have just purchased a set and they are 13.4 mm They come with a set of 4 rubber self adhesive pads the same shape as the shoe face. Include this and it is 14.4 Are these to attach to the back to act as anti squeal shims. They are the same shape as the shoe but would interfere with the current metal shims if used together. Phil
  4. I believe the front brakes are Girling type 14. I have just purchased a front set of Mintes 1144 model 533a pads from Rally Design £44 delivered. I will email you a link. Phil
  5. Well, went to start the 7 and with the ignition on there was no orange light, great news. So, started it up, and still the light is off :) moved the car into the sunshine (I know, in Scotland!, in March!). Then noticed the light was dimly glowing and over a couple of minutes brightened up a bit more. Taken the decision to warm the car up completely. Fan kicked in when warmed up and the light is dimmer but not out yet. I have left the bonnet and engine off now and see if it dries out. I will check and give and update in an hour or so. Looking good so far. Phil
  6. So, it appears to be a dampness warning light Phil
  7. Richard, The light is the one in the top centre above the needle axis. Although he car is registered 2002 I know it was a transition year. I have seen other 2002 academy cars with a central hand brake. Considering the very wet weather up here, the worst the locals have seen in over 30 years and the fact the car was stored with a cover and under a car port, damp could be another cause. I will check the electrical connections and warm them up with a hair dryer or something to see if it helps. Thanks Phil
  8. Thanks for the quick replies. PM received, thanks Jonathan. The hand brake is under the dash and has no indicator, I will check the brake oil level as a mater of course. An engine control system malfunction sounds bad. I will look and see what information an 'OBD generic scan tool' will give, I may have to buy one asap. The manual is for the newer models but it does seem to be the likely culprit. I will check out the wires around the ecu and other bits, just in case. Phil
  9. Hi, Just waking the 7 from a 5 month slumber. It is a 2002 ex-academy car. When I turned the ignition on the orange warning light came on and I have no recollection of this happening in the last 7 year. Started the engine and all seems well and normal apart from the orange light is still on. I am unwilling to warm it up and take it out until I know what it means. Searching the archives only points to the light being a gear change indicator (R400) but I thought it was something to do with a low oil pressure indicator, hence my concerns. If oil pressure then I would have expected a red light. The oil pressure dial indicates a steady 4 but I have stopped the engine anyway just in case. I cannot find the user manual so I cannot check it for information. Can someone look in their user manual for a 1.6k circa 2002 to see what it in indicating? Thanks. Phil
  10. Hi, Just passing on my way home and spotted your car parked outside theLade Inn. I had no time to pop in and say hello. It may be a nice evening for a drive over the pass. Phil
  11. Ah, Then you passed by my door step. I live in Brig O'Turk, 5 mins from the pass. The pass is no at it's best this time of year. Too many people stopping in the middle of the road for a photo op ! Phil
  12. yes, most likely the same three I spotted on Saturday. They are not from Mull but travelling from Manchester to Mull, I think just for the weekend. I hope the weather improved! Phil
  13. Hi, Waved as you overtook and stopped at the petrol station to say hello. The weather has not been too kind for your journey to Mull. Incidentally, which route are you taking, I presume to Oban? Hope you have fun. Phil
  14. Hi, Waved as you entered BA. Nice day but too much water on the roads for me to get my car out. Phil
  15. Did not have time to wave. With the cold and rain it brightened my day. Phil
  16. I would say it is a Kart suit. Phil

  19. I have something in the loft I was given couple of years ago. Too big for me (5:10, 10stone) I will dig it out and check out the size. Give me a couple of days (I am in Brum and the loft is in Scotland!) Phil
  20. You can test the guage by shorting the wire to ground. Previous questions http://www.blatchat.com/T.asp?id=101420 If it does deflect then you do not need to test much else, it will most likely be the sender. Good Luck.
  21. Guess that you are familiar with Duke's Pass then? Bit busy with the tourists this time of the year, but we get round there first thing in the morning Phil & Moira.
  22. That was Steve's car, mine is up north in Scotland. I just had to visit Steve to get my 7 fix. Great to see you, the bike engine sounded great. Phil
  23. Does the car have a thermostat? You may need one for all year round motoring (I have yet to fit one). I agree with all the above, they are great cars and good value.
