  1. Hi, I'm flying from Birmingham to Edinburgh on 22nd. If they could go as hand luggage I'll carry them on. If that possible to can then work out rest of the logistics. I live about 30 min drive from MK. Martin
  2. I need to move part of a chassis - enough for a salvage yard to be sure that it isnt being reused.
  3. Hi, I have red and green wide track ARBs I don't need. Live in Oxford, can get them to central London. Martin
  4. Geoff, Definitely up for this providing its 105db. Martin
  5. Thanks for the advice everyone. Martin
  6. As a result of a rather stupid accident, an axle stand has punctured my petrol tank. I have a new one on the way from CC and need to fit it quickly - I'm off to Dijon on Wednesday. The car is an R500 with a roll cage. Can anyone offer advice on how best to get the tank out and the new one in - preferably without taking off the cage. Martin
  7. I am probably going to have two tickets for the Sunday (5th September) available. I have two entry tickets, two stand tickets (for start line) and two members badges (which get you into the paddock if "correctly" dressed. The badges will need collecting/meeting up on the Saturday evening. I don't want to split these up. I am away until 2nd August - so if you are interested in this package drop me an email offline. I'll respond on/about 2 August. Martin
  8. I have a McLaren range car that is 3 years old - and was starting to fade at the ned of last year. Over Christmas a local car repair firm respryed the front - from cockpit forward - for £250. It's really mad a big difference to the look of the car- and they did it without any overspray. Martin
  9. I have used "lift-a-dot" type fastenings. I got them from someone seeling odds and ends for 1950's sports cars. I find they are much more secure than Caterham fastenings. Have tested them up to about 130 mph.
  10. Have any more early users got commenst on the diffuser - especially for circuit use?
  11. I had my R500 MOT'd for the first time yesterday. I used a local garage - and I think he misread his manual - he told me I needn't have refitted the cat as "it doesn't need an emission test"!!!! Needless to say I'd didn't contradict him. He is based quite near Bicester - and i am happy to pass on details to anyone interested - please email off line. However, he did insist on replacing the amber sidelight lenses, putting on a full size number plate and so on. And replacing/fefitting the headlights. Martin
  12. I could write at length about the S4 towbar saga! The bottom line is: - Audi will not supply it with a tow bar and some dealers will not fit one. - The A4 tow bar fits the S4 - my insurance co are quite happy for me to have a tow bar. I am buying this car in spite of Audi and the dealer (Aston Green). They took the order in November, with the tow bar included on the order form. In January they then said that they couldn't supply it with a towbar. It gets worse after that - but thats another story. Car now expected in early April. I have arranged for Oxford Audi to fit a tow bar after delivery. Apparently the issue for Audi is that in Germany, none of their cars with the V8 engine are approved for towing ("too fast to tow?" As a result Audi Uk are worried about product liability.
  13. I am selling my 1999 Audi S4 Avant next month. Its done about 80,000 miles, has FASH and has just been serviced with new cam belt and front discs. Currently I have an agreed p/x deal (for a new S4) - but I am open to offers around £11,000. Its Negaro Blue, silk leather, bose, and (needless to say) removeable tow bar. The car will be available in early April. Email me offline if you are interested - martin.ray45@btinternet.com
  14. I just got the front of my McLaren orange car respayed. The bodyshop got the paint mixed (they couldn't get in touch with Caterham during the holidays). Given they now have the "recipe" (I presume) I'd be happy to put you in touch with them (email me off line). Martin PS The car looks like new and with a refreshed engine and gearbox it practically is!
