  2. Whoops. That'll teach me to post before looking at other topics won't it.
  3. Mark, What is a championship contenders card? I assume we haven't got this yet?
  4. For sprinting we need a headrest that attaches to the cage and sits behind the tillet seat's own headrest. We thought that we had one but it turns out that it is for an FIA bar rather than a cage so it doesn't fit. We need one for the Cadwell sprint next Sunday. We will try to get one from Caterham's parts dept. when they open again on Tuesday but thought I would ask on here because if they don't have any in stock we won't have much time to get things sorted. The car is a 2004 academy car with a Caged roadsports cage. Thanks
  5. Thanks Ken. I just saw that they are required for the "Fastest 7 in the World" drag do and thought I'd better check.
  6. I've just booked a track day at Cadwell for the Friday before our sprint on the Sunday. Is anybody else doing the same? The day is being run by Motorsport Vision. Details here for anyone that's interested. Matthew Edited by - Matthew Willoughby on 18 Mar 2007 22:21:08
  7. Am I correct in thinking arm restraints are not required? I can't see any reference to them in the regs.
  8. Yellow Grads car heading down the M1 last night.
  9. Can't say I've ever thought of Cadwell as evil and sadistic - well, not in the dry anyway. I love the place and can' think of anywhere I'd rather compete. Together with a bit of friendly father/son rivallry it should be a great day - I just hope it doesn't rain. There's a video of a Fiesta doing a sprint there last year on YouTube . Should give you some idea of what to expect. I don't know if we'll be using the final chicane though, that's normally reserved for bikes.
  10. My VX Classic was just the same and my "plastic clothes peg" broke completely on a 7 Club trackday at Oulton leaving me stranded at the chicane and not able to get back out on track for the rest of the day Luckily it happened mid afternoon. McMillan Motorsport here (who look after the Grads racers) sorted me out and I'm sure could send you a new one in the post. Edited by - Matthew Willoughby on 11 Mar 2007 09:57:52
  11. Just got an email too, as did Dad. Can't wait for what will be our first sprint 😬 It's a good job we printed the regs and entry for off the web and didn't wait for entry forms in the post though - I never got one. Judging by the number of people that the email was sent to the event must be nearly to its 120 capacity. Is anybody else doing the MotorSport Vision trackday there on the Friday before? We'll be there getting in some practice
  12. I'm not a techy but they sound like the crash protection that wat introduced in the late '80s/early '90s. I think some of the racers came up with the idea first and it was later adopted by Caterham themselves. Personally I wouldn't remove anything that's been put in for my safety. The racers obviously thought it was worth the weight penalty. Of course, I could be completely wrong and it's something else entirely.
  13. Sounds like a great excuse to go for a long blat to me 😬
  14. Good to meet you Andrew. I hope the car's going better when it comes back from Andy Mac's. And you're right about Silverstone - it's awful for spectating!
  15. See here to hire the BookaTrack noise meter. Edited by - Matthew Willoughby on 11 Feb 2007 09:52:29
  16. What I forgot to mention is that BookaTrack are by far the best of that bunch Honestly, I've hired the BaT Superlights a few times and you really can't go wrong. Happy now Jonny
  17. I should be able to help on either the Saturday or Sunday (or maybe both). I still won't have done my first event by then though. However, having applied for my licence today, I am one step closer Let me know what I can do to help. Can't help with the car I'm afraid.
