  1. Hi John, managed to buy one from Geo Polly whilst getting a new set of Yoko's - will send an email to you personally. Mike
  2. I need a spare 6x13 wheel for my 2001 de-deon car. Condition not too important as long as it's round. Am stuck as supplier out of stock & need one to hang the carrier on for a holiday mid month. I'm in Lincs. Broom Broom.....
  3. Thanks Nev, will try this. This is part of an ongoing problem as the car refuses to start when hot ( perfect when cold) say after filling with fuel although it will start ok after 15mins or so. The immobilisor just wont reset to run and stays in immobile mode. All fob batteries changed inc the main car battery. It's a sod...
  4. Does anybody know how to re-set the transponder on an EU3 K series please. I seem to remember that this can be done with a series of blips in a set order but cannot find refernce to this. Would appreciate help on this one please. Mike You can see under mine
  5. Sounds like the problem that I posted about last month. Mines an EU3 and behaves the same. Caterham are baffled (?) Anoyingly it will start first time from cold however once run for a few minutes it won't restart untill it decides to do so. I've tried using the isolate switch / removing all mems plugs for differing periods / trying variouse blipper combinations - all to no avail. Regret not one bit of advice so it's obviously a bit unusuall. My 7 is booked in with Chris at the 7 workshop shortly but would love to solve it if possible. Mike H
  6. Have a problem with the immobilisor on my 2001 K series EU3. From cold the car starts without problem, however when hot it refuses to start apart from an initial few revs - ie as would be normal when the immobilisor is operative. I have put a new battery in the sender which has made no difference - the immobilisor clicks as though operative as before. By pressing the padlock button the alarm light flickers rapidly untill it the ticks as alarmed -- then pressing the plain button the immobilisor clicks & the light goes out but the problem remains. After say ten minutes it starts again.. Any ideas please as it seems that the immobilisors are suppossed to be fault free I'm told !
  7. Think repeaters only required if vehicle has been SVA tested, however mine has passed twice without them.
  8. Hi se7enmad. Thanks for the info - much appreciated - now where can I store it !! Always fancied one & wish I'd bought one before. Not sure that I can get rid of the 7 though...
  9. Hi Rynicolson. Am thinking about an Elan (the proper one !) Can you give me any contact details like website for the club etc. Unable to find anything - which is not unusual for me...Regards Mike H
  10. Hi Shaun, I was told that the torque should be about 25ft lbs whilst at Caterham, although I noticed a posting recently that suggested twice that. Check with Caterham to be on the safe side and do use fresh bolts..
  11. Hi Steve, think fitting the Tillets was one of the most difficult jobs to do on the car, they are well worth the trouble though. Two people on the job will help ...
  12. Hi Alan, still think wide track is better & worth the effort although expensive. Only selling the standard items to recoup a bit of cash & judjing by the phone calls should have advertised for more. Wish I'd have known of your interest. See you soon & have a good Xmas
  13. Sold to the gent in the orange hat - I thank you...
  14. Standard front kit -upper & lower wishbones / Red Anti-Roll bar. All in good order £50.00.
  15. I bought but don't use anymore a Lotus Elise cam cover for my EU3 engine as the origional Rover thingy made me fell ill everytime I looked at it. They are available from Lotus dealers for about £12 ea and do look better. Since some recent engine work I've left it off as it looks quite ok naked without the cover anyway !! Incidentaly I'd had an annoying rattle which I couldn't locate - it turned out to be the cam cover...
  16. I've just fitted a lightweight f/wheel & a comp. clutch. Blimey what a difference, am really surprised and am very pleased with the result.
  17. Just wait till the cold air goes up your bum-believe me it can be the coldest imaginable on a long winters blat !!! Have now bought the seat liners from Oxted Trimming & good they are -about £100 pair...Oh and dont go out in the rain...
  18. Fancied doing this one, Caterham quoted £175.00 + vat - too poor for this mod. Good luck if there is an alternative (RIF one is a bit odd in profile- although he did say there might be a second version)

  20. Done it.....Lock nut very tight with threadlock....
  21. Fitting wide track and unable to undo the damper eye /piston to fit the extensions. Am nervous as to how tight to do up the vice when gripping the piston so as to undo the damper eye. Just seems to slip round in the vice and the eye wont budge. Anyone had this problem..
  22. Try Mothers Mag from James Whitting....
  23. From experiance the dryed out carpets develope a unique stink after getting wet a few times - far better chuck then away. Also get Tillets which aren't affected either. I used to set up a fan heater in the foot well and leave it on for a few hours whilst the car was in the garage. - Best not go out in the wet !!
  24. Hi Shaun & thanks for the info. However unable to find Roy's reference to the Laminover when I tried - will try again as it might save me some cursing when I fit one. Looks like John Howe has one going spare - I'm staying with him in deepest Sussex this weekend so hope to bring the unit back. More money Found it in text only Edited by - mikehoile on 21 Oct 2004 18:37:39
