Thankfully, once I had dropped the sump off, I was able to unscrew the remainder of the bolt. Just need to replace the bolt now, have popped a temporary one in for now to prevent any oil from dripping through (altho unlikely). Ive removed 14 in total. Not aware of 2 near the gearbox end. Is this on the K series? Thanks K7 GDR '94 1.4k Supersport

I have removed the 14 bolts required to drop the sump (wet sump), yet it is completely stuck on. Does anyone have any tips on how to get it off! Today is not going well 😔 Cheers Mark K7 GDR '94 1.4k Supersport

Oh dear What a morning! Thought I'd do the oil change and change the sump foam (even tho not due) and when dropping the sump, managed to inadvertantly tighten one of the sump bolts and it has now snapped. I have not continued to drop the rest, does anyone have any advice on how to get this out (ground clearance is obviously the main obstacle from drilling out). Any advice would be much appreciated. Sorry - Its that age old question of paint codes! I have read through the many posts on here, and did manage to speak to someone at CC a few months ago. They gave me the email address of Rosie at CC who would be able to search the arhive. I emailed her last week and it has bounced back as undelivered. Does anyone have any contacts or any idea what the paintcode would be for the following: '94 Supersport 1.4K. Metaillic red/burgundy. Someone thinks it is probably a Rover colour - Nightfire red (paintcode 916). It does look a very close match (if not exact). Can onyone confirm or deny that this is a colour that was used by CC. I have purchased a new Samco silicone hose kit for my 1.4k Supersport, and now wish to replace some of the more generic hoses - fuel, breather etc. Does anyone have the diameters of the hoses fitted and the lengths for this engine. Fingers crossed Caterham are getting some in on Tuesday! I then just need to get my mechanic to fit, as I understand on a de-dion, you have to drop the rear suspension......not the sort of thing I should probably do ahead of taking it round Cadwell. I am concerned that I have only the 'standard' roll bar which came with the car when it was built in '94. Can someone confirm that this will be sufficient, or do I need to shell out for a new roll bar? Currently, concerned at time, given the day is a week on Monday! Thanks. K7 GDR '94 1.4k Supersport

Hi, Im insured with Adrian Flux (without track day) and they have told me that I cannot add to this and referred me to competiton motor insurance. It might be worth me calling them again to double check!

Hi, I have read the previous posts for track day insurance. I have only managed to get a quote from Towergate / Comp car insurance. I will be taking part in the Cadwell Park day on 23 April, and need to get my insurance sorted! They have quioted me £97, with a 10% excess on the value of my Cat.......that seems expensive (at my renewal I will get it included) does anyone have any thoughts on where else I could try / what experience and cost have other had please. Hi, I am looking to "do" my first track day (hopefully at Cadwell) this year. I now have the form, but can someone tell me what the general format for the day is. I.e. I see there are 3 categories, how many laps can you do, what about passengers, equipment (helmet?) etc. Oh, and what should I expect to be left of my tyres afterwards? Sounds like you're having the same kind of week as me! Main car wouldn't start on Monday, took the Caterham to work and then it wouldn;t start when I came to come home. The battery appears to be dead. Ive topped up the water, can;t see if any elements are buckled, its been on charge for 15 hours and it wouldn't do anything. Does anyone know where the best place is in Norfolk to get a replacement Banner? K7 GDR '94 1.4k Supersport

Hi, I will keep an eye out on the For Sale section. I have been on the look for the last month, but still nothing. I have not been to the Carrotland meeting - will find it difficult owing to work committments, but will try to come along when the weather improves. I have not contacted Ernie Panks yet - must do.
