  2. NOW SOLD - T33ACH held on retention and available for immediate transfer with DVLA assignment fee already paid. Perfect for teachers, lecturers, coaches and instructors of any sort, but ideally suited to a driving school or a road registered ARDS track instruction car! Advertised on Regtransfers and Ebay at £2995, but sensible offers from L7C members also considered!
  3. An absolute bargain for what I think will become a timeless classic. 95% of the performance of an R500 K without the increased risk of 3000 mile rebuilds ... I really miss my original R400K. So much more character than the duratec cars with far more pops, crackles and occasional flames. If I could only justify having both ...
  4. The silencer for sale is the one on the floor, but dimensions are identical to the current R400/420R side exit system. I do believe it would benefit from being repacked as you can hear the loose wadding inside the can, but to my understanding, would need to be cut and spot-welded. I only replaced it for an easy life on track and might even go RaceCo next to compensate for the increased induction noise of RBTs when I fit them! Bargain price of £100 plus postage (or collect for free)
  5. Apologies for the delay Rob; missed this. I'll post something as soon as I have taken a decent picture.
  6. It's a question I've asked before, but didn't really get to the bottom of it and still haven't taken any action so ... I would like to fit new lowered headlight brackets to my car, but realise that it will leave untidy cut-outs in the sides of the carbon nose-cone where the old brackets where. Is there a recommended way of patching the hole to disguise this? Fairly sure that a few people must have tried this by now, so please share your success stories and failures!
  7. rj - Apologies if I failed to point it out at the time, but you have PM. Would be happy to post to Denmark, but recommend that you double check the suitability for a k-series/imperial install as wouldn't want to mess you about or have is posted repeatedly for fear of damage. Thx A
  8. rj still has first dibs, but I believe would like to use in a k-series/imperial chassis set up so is double checking on dimensions. Otherwise, still available ...
  9. A slightly delayed response ...only just seen almost 3 years later while searching for something else
  10. Great; see you then. Silver R400 (you can guess the reg) ...
  11. Height 45 cm Width 20 cm Depth front to back 12 cm Height of front mounting bracket above base 34 cm Inlet and outlet pipes add slightly to those dimensions. If anyone can point me towards an idiots' guide to inserting photos in threads, I will add some here. I will also try to send you them by PM. Al D
  12. Yes, I'm sure that I could do that. Low risk as the glass is already cracked. £50 plus postage (shouldn't imagine it would be more than £10). PM me with address if interested and I will send bank or paypal details.
  13. Excellent cosmetic condition, but appears to be a sealed unit that cannot be repacked without cutting the end cap and re-welding. It's loud, it's spits flames and I assume must be pretty much the equivalent of a straight through pipe by now. Wouldn't even consider it for the majority of 100dB static track-days, but full of character for the road! I can bring to Oulton Park on Tues 4 Jun if you or a friend are able to collect. £100
  14. Early version of Duratec Aluminium Dry Sump Tank with no cam cover breather pipe inlet, although could easily be modified to current specification. Ideal for anyone wanting to run as a closed system. Current version costs in excess of £800 from Caterham. Bargain price of £250 and can bring to Oulton Park on Tues 4 Jun if you or a friend can collect.
  15. Black windscreen with cracked glass. A few small marks on the frame but generally very good. Can bring to Oulton Park on Tues 4 Jun if you or a friend can collect. £50 ono
  16. Stack 8130/1 dash as fitted to R400D did not have a fuel pressure sensor fitted as standard. It requires the addition of an ST741 low pressure (or ST742 high pressure) fuel pressure sensor depending on where the reading is to be taken from. Without the sensor, the indication will behave exactly as you describe. If yours does have the sensor fitted (probably to the end of the fuel rail), then it may have either failed or there is an earth fault in the wire (start by looking where the wire goes through the bulkhead). The other critical omission (at least on early cars) was that they didn't connect the oil temp sender either. This is easily rectified in about 10 mins with a purpose built stack extension cable direct from Caterham!
  17. Quite a while since I raised this issue, but believe or not, I still haven't got around to fitting the new lowered brackets! It's back on my job list, so is anyone able to offer any further advice on the best way to fix the redundant cut-out holes in the nose cone once the lights have been moved? Many thanks Al D
  18. Is there a recommended method of repairing the redundant holes in a nose cone following the replacement of the original headlight brackets with the new lowered type? I was thinking of cutting small pieces of carbon sheet to match the holes as closely as possible and resin glueing in place with further carbon sheet behind for strength? Cosmetically, it would then require paint or vinyl film to cover the repairs ... Pictures or successes (and failures!) from those who have attempted this would be most appreciated. Recommendations for professional carbon fibre repairers in the NW would also be welcome in case I decide to get it done properly! Final option will be to get a brand new carbon nose cone from Caterham and get it painted then sell my immaculate carbon nose (with small headlight bracket cut outs) to partially offset the cost but this seems a bit extreme and not that cost effective ... Thanks for any advice.
  19. Well, a trip to Demon Tweeks yesterday with a little bit of 'man-maths' resulted in me failing to get a replacement visor, but buying a new carbon helmet (Bell RS7 Pro Carbon) together with extra visors and and a new case! SWMBO will never know ... Would still be interested in getting hold of visors for my Sparco Formula though, so do please let me know if you have one surplus to requirements and name your price. Thanks, Al D
