  3. Sounds like you have no thermostat. My 1.6K has holes drilled in the thermostat and never gets up to temp. That's with almost half the rad blocked off. I'm about to fit a PRRT. Start the engine and feel the radiator, if it starts to feel warm pretty soon, then chances are you haven't got a thermostat. Plus, you must have a return path for the water, otherwise you would have no coolant flow, so if the heater bypass has been removed, then there must be another return path.
  4. I've just had my 13" anthracite wheels repowdercoated by City Powder Coating in Brum. Superb job, took a week (for 4) and excellent price. city powder coating jon
  5. Paul, bm and normal email. Hopefully one of them will get through. jon
  6. I've just put Redline MTL in my 6 speed. Got it from JJC. Free p&p until end Feb. Took about 1 and a half bottles. JJC
  7. I bought rather too many 3/8 allen keys for the 7 gearbox filler/drain plugs. I have a couple spare. £3 including postage to UK. Photo jon Edited by - pebblebuoys on 9 Feb 2012 17:57:20
  8. Decided to sort out the cooling on my dry sumped 1.6K 7. Will be going PRRT thermostat setup, and also fed up with the Caterham temp gauges. I have no faith in them. Ideally, would like to install new oil temp and water temp gauges. What have people done? Some of the SPA stuff is very nice but pricey. [PS - I'll probably update the oil pressure gauge as well - with a mechanical Think/Mocal solution - as most people have done). jon
  9. Hi Dave, it was me. You're the first 7 I've seen out and about this Christmas/New Year period. jon
  10. I currently have a dry sumped 1.6K with the factory dry sump system - with tank in the bellhousing and swirl tank I want to fit a heater, but that's currently where the oil catch tank is. The catch tank is a shoody looking plastic one - see this photo I need to move the tank to install the heater, so where have people located it and what better quality tanks have people used? thanks jon
  11. Wanted - heater like here ideally new or nearly new. thakks jon
  12. Has anyone installed the Caterham high level brake light - like here: http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=334 to an Imperial chassis with the FIA rollbar with the cross? if so, any photos - I would like to see how it is fixed to the rollbar. thanks jon Edited by - pebblebuoys on 29 Nov 2011 10:58:40
  13. Hi all, just got my first 7 after waiting for a long, long time and tweaking/upgradeitis has already set in I need to upgrade both harnesses and I'm after 5 (or 6) point quick release harnesses. What are the Titon harnesses like - they look good value and are made in the UK. Any views? jon Edited by - pebblebuoys on 24 Nov 2011 19:46:28
