My car's been laid up for a while and on starting it the oil pressure is running @ 6 bar at idle. I understand that this might be caused by the pressure relief valve sticking.
Any advice?
Should I just let it run up to temperature and hope that the valve will release when the oil gets a little thinner?
Or - do I get the spanners out? - Dry sump scavenge pump covers the cover, so have to dismount the pump....
Also, if I do resort to spannering - what's the best way to deal with the problem?
