Brodie, a car like that costs around 60,000can$ new. I get it used for about 2/3 of the price. Not too bad considering an imported version would be 15+years old and would cost about the same.

That's one of the Caterham I'm buying. They are selling the dry sump. If asked, they'll probably say the dry sump is better...

I'll check with the seller about actual customers. I don't know how safe it is for sure. The busa engine is expensive, so is the dry sump... I'll let check with the seller.

Just what I thought. The dry sump is the best solution. But swivel might work. I hate that stuff. Do you guys know what Blackbird and FireBlade Caterham use??

I am buying a Hayabusa powered Caterham. Since it is using a motorcycle engine, it is recommended to use a dry sump for track use. However, I found a guy that sells a special sump with a swivel for car equipped Hayabusas. Swivel pan picture. I was wondering if some of you had any idea how good the swivel solution can be. The swivel is much cheaper and much more simple than the dry sump. A guy I know said they used that solution on their SAE Formula car. So it shouldn't be that bad. What do you think??

I feel this is the ultimate Caterham. I see the 7 as a track car and the JPE must be the ultimate track car. I was wondering if there was any chance to see JPE cars for sale. By the way, are they reliable? And how much do you think they could sell for? Just curious.

Hi, I'm in the same boat. Only difference is that here, winter is coming in while your summer is coming in. So I'm not in a big hury to buy. My target date is to have the car by may 2005. So I'm trying to find as much nice Caterhams for sale as possible. Then maybe a short trip to England in april/may to check the selected cars and bring it back home. I live in Canada and the only way to get a Caterham is by buying a 15+year old. So if you have a 1989 and older Caterham let me know. I will also need to check how to ship oversea... I would prefer a low mileage, reliable, flawless 7. I don't really want a beaten up car or a car that would need lots of work. England is far to get things fixed...

Please I'd like to know more about this. Where can you buy it? Does anyone here have pictures of their "stack dash" installed? I'm curious as to how it looks!

The car has a 185hp Hayabusa, it's a SV and weighs only 1070lbs. About R400 hp/ton ratio. The two sets of wheel is a good idea. But I like crazy grip on the street. I drive on 205/50-15 Toyo RA1 on the street. More grip than you can ever need on the street. Do you know if the RA1 are too hard to bring to temperature for the Caterham? They are tough to bring to temp in the Miata (too light) no kidding.

D'oh! Didn't realized that you guys write "tyres" instead of "tires", this might explain why a search only resulted in 2 threads... I'm picking up slowly with the British English. Sorry. Well I just think 185 is very thin indeed. I am curious as to what do racers use. They usually know what works best for their cars. I know what's best for my Miata, but it's obviously different than a seven. For example, my Miata seems to really enjoy 38psi at the track and 34psi on the street. I wouldn't even think about trying that with the seven. Manky, I should have a first test drive on march 27th. Then another one sometime in april. But the best thing is that I finally have found an insurance company willing to cover the car! 😬 *thumbup* I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to actually drive the beast. What size do you guys suggest for 14in Minilites? The default size is 185/60-14 but I'd like to try some thing larger. The car will see it's fair share of racing and I want the best grip possible. I will probably buy A032R-S tires or something stickier like Khumo V700. What are the racer using on 14in wheels? Is it recommended to put wider tires in the back? Finally what tires pressure do you use on the track?

And where can you buy LSD for Caterhams? What kind of LSD do you guys use?
