  1. The passenger seat doesn't have one
  2. Looks like will need a shorter bolt as well. When buying a new one which one should I order-stainless steel, zinc plated, chrome,... etc I take it it has to be a strong bolt. does caterham sell these bolts?
  3. It is a piece of plywood wrapped in a carpet. It is about an inch thick at the front and may be half an inch at the rear.
  4. My driver's seat is sitting on an inch thick plate. Looks like the previous owner modified the floor. If I want to remove that plate is it just a straight forward removal of the 4 bolts? anything I need to watch for? (Have two seat belts, standard and 4 points) Thank you Ahmed
  5. Shiny digital, two gauge in one, warning light in the same gauge, no oil hose on Margarets lap.... All worth the effort.
  6. But wouldn't this be at the same level of the old sender, ie subject to splashes/stones. Or the problem with the original place was just the engine vibration ?
  7. Thank you JV. I jad detailed look at my car. Mine doesn't have this mounting boss. My be its a different chassis. Mine is SV 2003.
  8. Thank you, Charles. You are always full of ideas Never thought of this location, always thought it has to be attached to the chassis The 300mm hose should give enough length for this place. Did you just secured it with cable ties?
  9. Sorry Ian, I mixed up with the pics. Can anyone please post a clearer pic for the redundant bosses on the offside engine mount. I take it the sender should be mount to a chassis and not to be placed at the engine side of the mount as the engine side of the mount would have the same problem of vibration. Any suggestions about what hose length. Could I order a longer hose then "loop" it?
  10. Ian, thank you for explaining about the colours Martyn: Yes, was referring to the sliding bolt. 31-35nm sounds reasonable. Thank you
  11. I am changing the brake pads for a 2003 car. Rear brakes are standard caliper and discs. - The manual says 48nm torque for the bolts. Is this too much? (I didn't manage to achieve this 48nm, it felt too tight before the wrench locks). - what does the colour on the bolt mean? the original bolts were blue. The new bolts that came with the caterham uprated rear pads http://caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=668 are pink. I only received 2 (not 4) pink bolts. Is there any difference in the colours. I ended up putting two old blue bolts on the inside rear and two new pink on the offside rear. Should they all be the same colour? Thank you Ahmed
  12. I am ordering an oil hose to do a remote SPA Oil pressure sender. Just can't figure out what length I should order. In the archive, I read 300mm hose length. But I can't figure out where to put the sender if the hose is only 300mm. This pic I believe is by Ian SM25T but it is not clear where he put the T piece. This pic is from Alcester document. Is the sender at passenger or the driver's side?. If it is at the passenger's side, the hose will run very close to the alternator belt. Can someone post a clear pic of the location of the sender please? Would SV cars require longer hose length? Thank you Ahmed
  13. Never thought about adding apollo, How much roughly we talking about please? Thank you
  14. I think I will just go with your advice Revilla. Hopefully I could have enough access. Mine is SV. Many thanks
  15. Looks like there is more than one hole in the housing. So if the hole used in in Revilla's pic in post number "3" is in a tight place, what about the one in this pic. It is facing the other direction of the one revilla used. Can the sender be attached here? the sender will be facing down but I think it will be still not below the sump
  16. Thank you Revilla for the pic and comment. OK, won't use the sump bolt. What about the sandwich plate between the oil filter and the housing?
  17. And can someone also provide the thread size for the oil drainage plug please Thank you
  18. Can someone please provide a pic of the oil drainage plug in the sump. I need to see if it is facing horizontally or vertically. (hope it is horizontally). I need to order the kit today. Thank you
  19. No pic of the bolt As for ground clearance this is another story as i am still playing with setup/wheels and tyres. Just want to know of someone has put a temp sensor in this location before...
  20. Looking for some advice please. (car is 2003, K rover, 1.8L, wet sump no apollo tank, no oil temp sensor) I am going to install SPA digital gauge (DG201) for oil pressure and temp. (I understand the debate regarding mechanical gauge but after very informative conversation with Charlot Elliot, I'l go for remote electric gauge). I was thinking of attaching the temp sensor to a T tube on one of either ends of the 300mm hose. But just been on the phone with Matt at Think Auto and his view is there will be not enough flow to record accurate temp. He suggested two options: A) changing the sump drainage bolt with a bolt that I can attach the temp sender to. B) Adding a "plate" between the oil filter housing and the oil filter. This plate will have three outlets, one for the oil filter and one for the temp sensor. The third outlet can be used for the hose or just bolted. Any experience with the above please? Option A seems "less invasive" and more straight forward. But would it make the temp sensor too low and liable for damage? (I am away from my car now and can't tell if the drainage bolt facing horizontally or vertically) Any other options please (not keen for drilling). Thank you Ahmed
