  1. Hi, having just bought a new caterham filler cap and neck assembly to replace the rover one I thought 'this looks a piece of cake to fit'. First question is does the silver ally face plate come off the neck? I have tried but don't want to break it and question 2 is does the cork gasket go inside the boot, sealing the neck to the bodywork? Thanks in advance Dom

  4. I spoke to the water board for oxted, westerham and surrounding area as I found the tap water has a very high reading of phosphate in it(not ideal for swimming pool water), they said this is put in the water to line the old lead pipe to reduce lead leaching into the water
  5. thanks for the advice
  6. How did the wires go through the carbon block? Don't have to cut that do I?
  7. HI I want to swap the rubber blocks for carbon, is there a way of taking the wires out of the light holders or just cut and re-join by soldering? Also have the fog/reverse light blocks too, the lenses seem to 'rattle' around in them a bit, they are better secured in the original blocks, is this normal? Parts are from carbon mods if this helps thanks

    Dead Battery

Been trying to charge the Banner battery on the seven and it doesn't seem to be taking the charge, I think i let it run down too low. Is it time to get a new one? Have been charging for about 14 hours now but not enough to even turn the engine over. Thanks
  16. got my strip led mounted on 2 pipe clips that then just clip onto roll bar, work well with the half hood and can be rotated around the bar to any height, can also be removed without leaving any holes or marks. didn't use the wiring harness, just wired direct to rear light cluster and works great, no issue with mot time

    1.4 SuperSport

Quoting Mankee: Is there a reason for sticking with the Caterham Supersport kit? For legality purposes for example? If not, I'd stick a set of other aftermarket cams in there and maybe standalone management. Here's the K-series EU3 Supersport kit on Caterham Parts: here. that says its for the 1.6 k, is it the same for the 1.4? I also have a 1.4 k on a 54 plate so does anyone know if its eu2 or 3?
  18. Sitting in the White Bear in Chelsham(me not the plane), heard and saw it fly over towards Biggin Hill quite low, must be an airshow near-by, was a quite sight and noise was brilliant, it done what seemed to be a few fly passes.

    squeaky pads

Good News; finally got round to doing something about the squealing today, i chamfered the pads, cut a groove in them matching the depth of the m1144 racing pads, took the glaze of with some sand paper and applied copper slip (it was all i had to hand) to the rear of the pads and success!!! 😬 I don't know which action cured it but now i can finally stop without sounding like a cat being castrated.
