  1. Hi ScottR400D, No, not a light chatter. In fact I don''t have anything like that on my 420R that I've noticed. However from your post: "I also find 6th noisier than other gears on full overrun, just a general 'geary' sort of noise but definitely more than in the other speeds. At first I thought that was the diff but in 5th there's nothing." Exactly this! Only happens in 6th around 65mph or so on lift off. All other gears are silent.
  2. Today I collected my car with new Tracsport diff and managed to make the 5 mile journey home last for 30 miles. Early days for any impressions of traction advantages, especially with the roads being so greasy, however without a doubt it's a hell of a lot quieter than my previous Titan...and that wasn't too bad (as Titan's go). It is literally silent now and super smooth in running; no clonks or drivetrain backlash at all. In fact, I now realise how noisy my 6th gear is around 65mph (doesn't do it in 5th at either same road speed or same crank speed - perhaps something to do with it being 1:1 and therefore on a different spindle within the gearbox?). So early days, but without doubt it is quieter and smoother in operation. Next proper test will be on track, especially out of the hairpin at Mallory Park which I struggled with earlier this year.
  3. I think the target audience for someone who has directly compared Drexler to Tracsport on the road/track will be very small! However from looking at the Drexler website at the diff components, and having been to SPC to see the constituent parts of the Tracsport diff, I'd say they look extremely similar. I'm basing this on the clutch & plate sizes, plus the pinion ring ramp widths and diametric size.
  4. My Tracsport was also collected last week (Friday) and also set at 45/45 ramp angles. Will be driving the car back from Premier Power at some point this week, so will get to test the diff, although the journey is only very short (5 miles) and I don't expect to be able to prove much. Still excited however!
  5. Update from my end: my new Tracsport LSD is ready for collection. That's a turn-around of 8 days (6 working days). When I dropped the diff off (video below of initial findings) one other area of concern was my pinion bearings. To rotate the pinion, it felt rough and graunchy. Steve Perks has removed the pinion and said that the bearings resembled lead, which he believes is due to the carbon in the oil (which should have been on my plates!). So it's new Tracsport LSD, new pinion bearings and a magnetic sump plug for good measure. Initial video:
  6. Details of mine as per my post #144 and included video. And that reminds me, I need to message Steve Perks for an update on when my diff will be ready.
  7. Thanks for sharing the sound file - WOW, what a difference! And to think that's a newly refreshed Titan diff...
  8. Hi All, It's been interesting reading through this thread, as it has coincided with my own actions in having my LSD checked. My Seven is a late 2015 kit-build 420R, running 220bhp RBTBs and a Caterham 6-speed 'box. The car has covered 8000 miles and has a carbon-plated Titan 'BMW' LSD. Back in April I discovered that I'd lost preload in the diff in my (new to me) 420R. The plan was to remove the diff this Winter to investigate, however things accelerated a few weeks ago when I decided to combine the work with having my DS Tower modified by Premier Power. Stuart at PP also removed the diff, which I took to SPC Components in Redditch this afternoon. Rather than spend ages typing up what I saw today, and as I took some pictures and video while Steve Perks was stripping the differential, I thought it easier to put it into a video on Youtube (see link below). I hope that this helps visualise some of the issues that people have been discussing on this thread.
  9. Yes I hit a large rock recently which took a gouge out of my guard (it's a gearbox bell-housing guard, rather than the sump I believe). Yes it's expensive, however when you remove it it is a solid billet of machined nylon and very robust. That being said, I removed mine and just tidied up the scarring, before refitting it.
  10. Hi Simon, If Ben doesn't take it, can I have 2nd dibs please.
  11. Yes it's not cheap, however I have 2 boys (4.5 and 18months) so will get plenty of usage from it. And I'm sure I will easily sell it on down the line.
  12. Just to update this thread, I've bitten the bullet and ordered a brand new one from Volvo. The part number differs from the previously listed part numbers (see here: https://www.lotus7.club/forum/chitchat/volvo-booster-seats-still-available) as the seat is a newer design. I'll be popping down to the Dealership on Friday to do a test fit. Part numbers are 31470488 & 31470519 and the total cost is £209.99.
  13. My Dave Gemzoe bulbs arrived today. Will try and sneak out tonight to fit them.
  14. If anyone is selling a Volvo booster seat, or any other that can fit within a Tillet seat, then I'm looking to buy one please.
  15. In my experience, and although this is a different engine (Sigma), I find this captures the Roller Barrel sound very well.
  16. Hi Andrew, Are you still interested in these wheels & tyres?
  17. Hi Andrew, The CR500 tyres are 175/55 R13. I am in Warwick, so not far from you at all. I am around most of today if you'd like to view them. Thanks, Grant
