  1. Well with all this talk of upgrades for next season the only one on my mind at present was the upcoming need for a catalytic exhaust ( looks like will have to shake the piggy bank harder).

I presume several of us will be in the same boat so do not know if a mini bulk buy might be an option.

In the meantime any advice or experiences from the assembled experts with low power loss catalysts preferably built in to a single repackable? silencer hopefully running off standard Caterham 4 into 1 primaries yet still with enough space to squeeze in a 4 to 2 to 1 collector would be welcome

  2. Just a quick note to wish everyone a successful and safe final event of the season.

Would have liked to be there but both my daughters decided to get married this year and number 2 is this weekend. (there goes the upgrade budget.....again!)

Already looking forward to next year

    Best wishes to all

  3. Whole heartedly agree, good competition across all the classes, 3 runs for our money was a nice bonus and thankfully third gear had only been hiding and eventually was allowed out to play for the last 2 runs.

For the second week running got to within 5 miles of home before the heavens opened and car got soaked, hope it was better for the seemingly increasing number of 'real' seven owners who drive to and from the events.

Guess it all starts again at Curborough see you there

  4. Hi Mark

If as discussed you need anything bulky/heavy taking to Loton the will need to collect it from you before we leave mid morning tomorrow

If not see you both there and have a safe trip

  5. Only got back last night so a bit late with another thanks to Mark and the club for letting me have an entry, as others have commented if one never gets in again its another one of the great motorsport arenas ticked off the list.

So lucky with the weather, great competition in all the classes, great camerarderie, just a magical day.

Robin, if I buy your old shocks does that automatically mean I can go as fast as you are now?

See many of you at Loton

  6. Mark

Assuming you are driving up to MIRA on Saturday if you need any clutter taking up in my tow car then contact me and I will pop over Friday evening and collect

  7. Was away on holiday when MIRA entry forms released, so only got forms back to them just before the deadline, anyone heard anything regarding their entries or know the method MAC use to confirm or otherwise

    Thanks

  8. Just put my head above the work parapet to post something nice about a super weekend at Pembrey, only to find you have all got there hours before me (bit like the times really)

Anyway just to add my thanks to Mark as ever for putting it all together, to Malcolm and the club for providing the excellent base for us all to enjoy. Lets hope the weather remains as kind for the rest of the season.

Michael, so glad your steering problem didn't show itself up 24 hours earlier, and that your memories of the weekend remain primarily that stonking time on Sunday.

Finally a quick appolgy to Jeff S and Robin for the somewhat risque overtaking manoeuver (complete with trailer) at the traffic lights on the way to the motorway, didn't realise 2 lanes became one so quickly

Only got MIRA entry in at the deadline so hope to see you all there

  9. Hi Mark

Just picked this info up, looks a good opportunity just trying to work out hols etc. As first event is evening is it feasible to get to it by travelling that day rather than adding another day of travelling

Their travel packages do not look bad at a glance or is the intention to do a bulk buy amongst ourselves

  10. Although it ought to be, I am not sure it is as clear cut as suggested. It appears my late 2000 reg car was somehow SVA'd without a cat and therefore in the current MOT database has no emissions data so is not tested for emissions at MOT time.

If the older pre cat cars end up with an advantage, maybe we could make the class structure really complex with a 'classic' class (not the caterham live axle interpretation of classic) and as old cars always run on cross ply tyres, well then there is a use for all those ACB 10's as well

(lights blue touch paper and runs like hell for cover!!)

  11. I can see this creating some interesting 'equivalency' arguments, so may as well start the ball rolling as we can look forward to 16 months of debating the pros and cons.

What about all non cat plenum chamber cars being limited to original 48mm throttle bodies!!!!

(Don't think it would have much effect, you could put square wheels on Adrians car and he would still be seconds ahead of me)

  12. Searched a load of websites for a map of the course for Saturday, could not find anything. Can any one send me a link to a map, otherwise not only will I not know (again) how much speed can be taken into the corners on these sticky Kumho's but I won't even know which way to turn the steering wheel
  13. Got confirmation of Aintree entry yesterday but have not heard anything from Cadwell, is contacting the secretary of the meeting the only way to find out if I've got an entry or not.
  14. 4 off silver Superlites, road/track use so good and straight but not immaculate, complete with 2 off just legal A0032R super soft compound tyres, 2 off legal and another 3 half worn not on rims. To my mind still the best road/track compromise tyre but no longer available.

If I'm going to clear out the garage 4 worn hard compound ACB 10's (Not sure exactly which compound, but harder than the sprinters favorite A24 compound)

£200 the lot will deliver within reason if it fits in with my travels.
