  5. Sorry about the "creasiness" - it does not lay flat. It has been used for 2 trips and is not damaged but has a few small rubbed patches. New: £137; My price £60 inc postage or transfer within club
  6. TomB and John - many thanks for you help. I have a good idea how to deal with it now.
  7. All I can tell you is that they were fitted at purchase within a "black pack". I have no idea what "kick up to the Left" means. I could do photos but the car is currently stored 15 miles away from where I live and I cannot go there before Saturday. I realise that this is not very helpful but I thought the question would be straightforward!! Geof
  8. I have a Roadsport 150 SV and am taking it into Europe. Can anybody tell me the positioning of the 'stick ons" to cover the left dip?
  9. It is yellow with a green stripe and green bonnet edge.
  10. SOLD This car has a 1600 crossflow engine, upgraded in 2000 to 125bhp, with twin weber carbs and a 5 speed Sierra gear box. It has a MOT to March 2019. The mileage is 51,000. It has a heated windscreen, Momo QR steering wheel, original bench seats, a 4 point harness, a double 12 volt socket and a digital gps speedo. It has 14in minilite wheels with Yokohama 021R tyres, a live axle, a spare wheel/tyre on a rear carriier, a FIA roll bar, a full hood and a half hood and it has been in my possession for 17 years. Service records are available. It is yellow with a green stripe and bonnet edge. My asking price £10,250
  11. I need a trailer to take my SV to southern Spain.
  12. I have just purchased a "younger" 7 and am planning to sell my 21 year old Crossflow in March. if you would like info please email me directly at geofdebenham@gmail.com
  13. Can anybody tell me the actual exterior depth of a standard sump please. I am not sure about mine as my ground clearance seems to be less than most. If standard I can then do the dip stick marking as suggested.
  14. Thanks again to all for your comments. A compression test was done a short while ago with good and similar reults on all cylinders. Its performance on the road is also consistent with what it has always been - 135-140 bhp in 1700ccs with forged pistons etc. My concern is just to remove the oil smell from my wife's regular seat on the passenger side (fortunately she cannot reach the pedals from the bench seat on my side!) and minimise the loss of oil. It seems that I will need to remove the sump to establish the correct level for the dipstick. Not a particular issue except that currently the sump is "oil tight" and I do not want to lose that.
  15. Many thanks for all your suggestions. My original setup was rocker cover breather vented to catch tank - situated where the heater would have been if I had one. The issue that started all this was my wife's sensitive nose which was picking up hot oil vapour! I tried moving the catch tank to other locations but until I vented it to the rear of the car the "smell" persisted. Most recently I constructed another catch tank, ran both vent pipes into it and vented it to the rear. At the end of a recent run from home to Normandie it vented about 1 litre of oil (quite alot on to the rear of my car). This is why I am trying to establish the cause - overfill or rings (or something else?). I was hoping not to have to drain the sump but I guess I will have to to check (as suggested) the correct oil level on my "non-standard" dipstick. Any further suggestions will be most helpful.
  16. I have an issue with oil being blown out of the breather. I realise that it may be the piston oil ring(s) that are the cause but I wish to eliminate one other thing before stripping the engine. As I have a non standard dip stick it is just possible that I am overfilling with oil. I can check this by removing the sump and measurung the drop from the bottom of the crank to the bottom of the block. However it would help me considerably if anybody has already taken this measurement and can give it to me.
  17. In my view breakdown cover is an absolute must. I would also be carrying all the spares that others have suggested. If you have cover and do not need to use it I would be looking for a small local garage (not aligned to a manufacturer) where there is/are decent all round mechanic(s). In the unlikely event that you need assistance on this basis I would ask the nearest tourist office, the proprietor of a locally run hotel (your own if it fits the bill) or any other local person "in the know" (gendarmerie?) where to find one. The biggest issue, if it arises, is electronic as there are very few french garages able to cope with Caterham's electronics. Sorry, but cannot help in this area but the RAC/AA should be able guide you..
  18. I can also vouch for Mark Hick's "credentials" He is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of Se7ens, having owned and looked after one himself for many years, and has a strong background in dealing with F1 cars. He has done a few things on my car and I have been very pleased. Others who have used his facilities in our area have expressed nothing but complete satisfaction. In my opinion using Anglia Sevens to build your car be a decision that you would not regret. If you speak with Mark and visit his premises you will not be disappointed. one wheel

I have just found out that the spare on the car that I purchased 2 years ago has the wrong spare. I wonder if anybody has a 13 inch 6j superlight wheel (tyre not required) for a live axle car. please email at geofcarltonsmith@btopenworld.com
