  1. Scuffnut, I believe the capture rate is configurable but I'm fairly sure you're right about the line of sight (site!). I had massive problems with mine trying to get a signal from slightly further than the fork on the crank on my bike. In the end, a minor adjustment of only 5mm made it start working...
  2. Not sure if the specs will be right for you but the world of model electric flight is producing some pretty interesting electric motors... example brushless jobbies Any good?

    Sump guard

Would it make sense to epoxy a couple of biker style knee sliders on the chassis fore and aft of the sump? Nice and slippy, pretty cheap and expendable. Justathought
  4. Don't kwy Pete ☹️ At least you've got a real 7, I've only got a 1/12th scale one and it's slowly dawning on me that I'm not going to be able to get in it and drive off into the sunset once it's finished, boohoo...
  5. Ohmygod! Search has started working for me again and found this; really techie chat... and got confused I guess there is much more to this than meets the eye
  6. Thanks Julian, is there any reason then, why people don't try and put fully independant suspension in, surely that would be lighter and better too? Tah in advance
  7. Hi All, Thanks for taking the time to read this. I was wondering how a De Dion is different from a live axle? My 7 is only 1/12th scale so this is the first opportunity I've had to study the setup at the back of the car and can't see how the De Dion is different from having a solid rear axle with the diff' in the middle, since you've got this huge great tube thingie that appears to fulfil the exact same function, i.e. joing the two rear wheels solidly together. Plus, it seems like a lot of weight to have to carry as opposed to ILS. Please excuse my ignorance and here's hoping my model really is scale and not totally different from the real thing 😬
  8. Thanks chaps, Lots of praise then! Hope he's not too busy. 😬 Regards, Bert
  9. Hi All, Thanks be to Mr Gilbert for the recomendation of RaceCo and Anglia Sevens for builiding me a 7 with a Duratec. Has anybody got any nice things to say about Anglia Sevens build quality? Thanks in advance, Bert 😬
  10. Interesting but the popups are bl@@dy annoying...
  11. Thanks Steve, have you got any contact details? Bert
  12. Thanks for the reply Colin. The £2.5K charge is for building a complete 7 from a Caterham kit and putting in a Minister engine. The reason I ask is that I'm thinking of going the Duratec route and it seems a good way of getting a Duratec properly installed (i.e. not by me) and not end up with a spare, Caterham supplied engine. Of course, I don't know the specifics on what Caterham charge for a kit with no engine as I'm just starting out but hopefully the Minister chaps should, as they advertise it as a service. I expect they'll be at Stoneleigh so would like to know a bit, before I talk to them. Thanks again, Bert
  13. Hi, Has anybody out there had any experience of a Minister build of their 7? On their site they state that they offer a quality build for £2.5K plus VAT, which seems reasonable if they are putting in one of their engines as well but I wondered if anyone had used their services and could comment on the 'quality' bit? Thanks, Bert
  14. Hi techiers, Anyone know the weight advantage of the 13" Caterham mag wheels over the 'lightweight' r300 alloys? Just wunderin whether they're worth the extra why you would want smaller wheels anyway. Tah in advance, Bert
