The no plate light cable is threaded thro the tube of the spare wheel carrier and needs to end up coming out thro the hole in the centre of the rear panel.
Problem is how I get access to it from the boot floor - which is alloy and siliconed in place or from below - alloy plate is visible (presumably fuel tank is above this)?
Advice please!! ☹️
THE ONLY SE7EN IN THE HEBRIDES!
Thanks guys. Car has cycle wings.
Cost wise have a good pal who owns a paint/body shop so it will be done locally at a very reasonable price.
Has anyone experience of how well the (re) paint stays on the fiberglass?
I have visions of stone chips taking of big chunks of blue paint to reveal yellow below!
cheers Fin

May well be interested (in the rims only). What make of rims are they please?
Have tried to reply twice to your email but it will not accept. Can you EMail me instead to make the connection that way?
Dont suppose you could send me a digipic of the rims?
cheers

Looking for a set of 13" minilight style alloys for LA car Ital PCD. Not fussed if they need a respray etc. as long as not bent and reasonable price.
thanks
Spot the deliberate mistake!
Point 3 should of course read paint WHOLE CAR a nice colour of blue.
Come on guys, need some pearls of wisdom on this one!!
My 7 is presently yellow and Ali. Seems I have 3 choices if I wish to colour change:
1. Paint the ali yellow
2. Paint the Ali some other contrasting colour (any suggestions on this one?!)
3. Paint the Ali a yummy blue like Viper or Audi Kingfisher
Appreciate your comments on the Pros and Cons also how much stripping of bits needs to be done i.e. suspension etc??
cheers
HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE HEBRIDES 😬

Thanks for the advice. Be very interested to see your photos.
How exactly (a bit of a description would be great!) do you make it "removable" (as it would be handy very occasionally for carrying luggage).

Wonder if I can get some advice about:
1. Pros and cons of having a spare on the car?
2. If spare and carrier removed how much weight saved? Also what experience does any one have of the tyre "inflation cans".
3. How much hassle involved in removing the carrier - it appears to be welded to the rear chassis tubes? Also where do the brackets the wheel bolts on to attached and how to remove them (guess I need to remove the alloy sheet acting as a "boot" floor)?
thanks
Thanks for the comments guys!
Breaks traction on power in the wet no problem - so need to dump the clutch.
Must say I was most concerned about doing some damage to the rear axle/diff. I take it the Ford (Escort) axle with LSD is pretty robust though?
As an aside Dononuts can NOT be bought in the Outer Hebrides on a Sunday!
cheers

THE ONLY SE7EN IN THE OUTER HEBRIDES! 😬
For once not raining up here - but damp road.
Did a couple of donuts in a deserted carpark - for my kids amusement of course!
Got to thinking that if I broke something it could be an expensive bit of fun. What am I liable to break on the car if this was done regularly?
Car is 155 BHP crossflow running a Ford LSD'd live axle (new). Presently on 32r's (slippy on a damp road).

cheers

Not a very exciting question but where can I buy some badges for my seven? Has usual Cat badge on bonnet - what should it have on back?
I know its not totally PC but is it possible to buy ones saying "Lotus 7" rather than Caterham?
- People keep confusing it with a Westfield!
