Gentlemen, I bought the plate to put on my Seven. I am reluctantly thinking about selling it. I was looking for significantly more! It is not available from DVLC, I own it! It is on retention, and ready to transfer. Make me a serious offer. The closest is S3VEN, which I believe is still owned by CCL. If I don't get any serious offers, I will just keep it and let it escalate in value. I am in no hurry. Tony Stattersfield

I have three 13x6 with 185's and two 13x7 with 205's, silver K&N Minators. Balanced, with chrome valves and (4) Caterham centres. All are new, unused, not even round the block! Would prefer to sell as a set. Tony Stattersfield

The hood and tonneau are made by Oxted trimming company. I called them to ask for a mod so I could fit the tonneau and leave the headrests in place. It seemed like a sensible request... They won't do anything direct. Something to do with the contract with Caterham. I cannot find anyone to do the mod for me, so, perhaps finding someone to so a copy of the Catherham hood will be tough. I happen to think that there ought to be a better solution, particularly with a view to having some zips to make it a little easier to get in and out!! Tony Stattersfield

I agree with the drilling solution. I used two small rivnuts, so I can remove it without taking the nosecone off! If you use dome head stainless allen bolts, it looks quite acceptable. Put a bit of Velcro on the back of the plate to stop it rubbing on the fibreglass. With a positive fixing, the plate can be as low as you dare and avoid restriction to the air flow to the radiator. I have armourfend on my BMW. On all the leading edges and lights. It IS expensive, but bloody good stuff. I cannot reccommend it highly enough. Not sure about DIY, though. Had mine done by them! Tony Stattersfield

Den, I am no expert on panels or finishing.... but, from what I have found out by talking to body shops and metal finishing companies: You can either polish the bare ally panels with a good alloy polish, and I think Belgom Alu is the best, OR you can key, etch, prime and paint them. As I understand it, a clear lacquer will not stick for any length of time, particularly on the bonnet which flexes so much. A good compromise, if you don't want hours of polishing is to spray the panels with the Mercedes Benz silver colour. This is quite the 'brightest' silver of all! Good luck! Tony Stattersfield
