  1. Quoting Joachim: We need the old perplex aeroscreen. We need only the aeroscreen, not the alloy mount. Right hand side! Oh no, here we go again... O/S or N/S... Right facing the car or sitting in it 🤔 It's all very Perspexing 😬 😬 Sorry couldn't resist.

  6. Westerham is a favourite of ours. It's on one of my favouite blatting routes, did it in reverse today (the route.. not the gear). We were in the Courtyard Cafe in the High Street, food is home made £4.50 for two large bowls of soup and bread & butter . Must find a more discreet parking spot for my cream teas . D&S

  11. Just "oot 'n aboot" after collecting car from CC Dartford after its first service + flat floor set up. Flat floor set has made a big difference me likes much sharper turn in 🙅🏻‍♂️.

  14. Very addictive Now 972 miles. Once I'm in it don't want to get out of it 🥰 The "orange one with white stripes" is booked in for it's first service on Monday. CC Dartford were very helpful, they agreed to supply and fit the half side-screens and supply and fit the retentive fixings for easy change from windscreen to wind deflector (you did warn me to check ) which were missing when I collected the car . 15. Quoting randybugger: Hi Oldbuffer I was just on my way to Kemsing to get an MOT 😬 Hope it passed
  16. My first time spot . Very clean, light blue, 816 FPX- through Eynsford 2:18 this afternoon. I'd just negotiated the ford (in my Navara) as you went passed the T junction.
  17. Yep, that was me again , did 170 miles today, down to Hastings following my nose, then along to Brighton and back home via "shortest route". Brilliant day, weather pretty good. Loving the car, sprint gear box brilliant, Tillet seats surprising comfortable on the 🙆🏻. 140bhp Sigma very responsive. Now clocked up 902 miles so will be booking the first service tomorrow with CC . The door knocker not too bad with earplugs in. Noisy exhaust... er noisy! Dougie
  18. Quoting coolbop: Hi, My car is currently back in Dartford with the same problem. They are changing the diff today which will be it's third diff. I get a clonk whenever I come on or off the accelerator or when changing gear. I've not heard this noise on the two other cars I've driven although I think they were open diffs. The odd thing is, the noise appears to come from the nearside. Also, if I rock the car backwards and forwards with the handbrake on, I get a similar sound. I can't be sure it's the same sound but if it is, doesn't that eliminate the diff? Ian My clonking isn't as bad as it was or should I say it doesn't clonk as much. Driving it more positively has made a difference but it's still not acceptable. There is obviously a problem with the LSD's - reading others experiences. I have now clocked up 600 + miles and hope to reach the 1000 miles this week and hopefully get it in for it's first service v. soon (before the salt is on the roads). Hopefully it will be resolved on the service??
  19. Quoting noet: "The knock" you experience is probably coming from the diff and is caused by the backlash. What is backlash? When you turn the pinion on your differential it will turn a specific amount of space before it actually contacts the the ring gear to turn your axles. If you have too little backlash the pinion is jammed into the ring gear and this will produce a lot of friction and heat and will lock up your rear axle. It will not turn freely. If you have too much backlash the pinion and ring gear will be too far apart and this will allow the gears not to mess properly and with the force of your motor will chip and destroy the teeth of the gears. This will cause excessive whining and will eventually destroy your axle again. Thank you all. The diff appears to me be the problem. I'll speak to After Sales and see what transpires.
  20. Scroll down to Technical Specification......... Wheels and Tyres Front 6J x 13" with AVON CR500 tyres Rear 8J x 13" with AVON CR500 tyres
  21. Martin your right, well spotted, depending on where you look on the the CC site you will find a different spec for the rears, one quotes 13 x 6 the other 13 x 8 . Nice to see CC keeping up their standards for attention to detail 😔. I asked why my car was on 13 x 6 rears and sales explained that the Supersport was only producing 140 bhp hence the smaller tyre. The Supersport's power to weight ratio is 269bhp per tonne. the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S is only 267bhp per tonne... me thinks it has a wider tyre?? The press / demonstrator car also has upside down springs and shocks on the front... mine has them the normal way up. I have the SV so I presumed the fuel tank would be 41litres but I can't fill it with more than 28 litres from empty (just on the red)! I'm guessing I have a 31 litre tank? Referring to my Hand Book is pointless because it doesn't cover the Supersport and where are my half side screens, as on the demonstrator ☹️ I feel an email to Quality Assurance coming on
  22. I'm new to the world of Caterhams and have just purchased a new Supersport (140 Sigma) with limited slip diff. I have a knock coming from the transmission when there is any "slack" in it i.e. changing gear. It sounds just like a door knocker! Any advice please or is this a case of "They all do that Sir".
  23. Hi Guys, at last I've managed to log on to Blatchat... it was operator error (wrong ID number). Thanks to all you spotters out there, I'd better behave myself . Hello to all of you who we have met over the last few days, sorry if we "blanked" anyone on Sunday but you all look so different in your "beanies" Thanks also to all for the briefing on Tuesday night prior to me collecting "the orange one" from CC. I dually checked the tyre pressures when I arrived home and you were right, they were all over the place, they varied from 31psi to 21 psi. Could it be a new way of completing flat floor set up . so much for the PDI Inspection . We both enjoyed the blat down to the L2B chasing Ian "Blat Meister"James along with the "Essex Boys", very sociable club with a very professional set-up at Handscross. It's not every day that (a bearded) Nigel Mansell drops in for a Cuppa! I've just clocked up 400 miles in the Supersport since Wednesday, some restraint is still required. Some answers to your questions - 140bhp Sigma with Duratec air-box (hence the odd vents on the sides, ones a dummy). Light weight fly wheel, uprated cooling system (its all track oriented and based on the Superlight racing series) 13x6 wheels, the rears look a bit silly as the don't fill the wheel arches. Lamps are set lower which I prefer, it has less of a "surprised look". Tillet seats, which I reckon are just as comfortable as the leather ones. 5 Speed "Sprint" close ratio gearbox which I like a lot, 5th at 70mph is 3500 rpm. Trackday exhaust fitted at the moment for more back pressure while running in and 4inch box and cat bypass on stand by for plenty of "B A R P" when its run in . The Supersport was 2nd in Autocar's Britain's Best Drivers Car 2011. Here endith my first post
