  1. My no 1 lead is the top most of the dizzy cap, and your right the dizzy cap only fits one way. The rotor arm is driven direct from the inlet cam, so that needs to be right to get the spark at compression.

Again, sorry if that is teaching you to suck eggs. Just seems to be all correct now but the timing, and if it's close they tend to run/cough etc.

    Hopefully it's just fowled plugs.

    Good luck tomorrow.

  2. Maybe teaching granny to suck eggs, but you have triple checked the leads order on the dizzy cap?

If you have spark and fuel, they may just not be at the right times to each other.

Does it not even cough and splutter a bit?

  3. Are you always bleeding water off and never filling it up?

The fluid must come from somewhere?

I have seen similar on my car, but I put that down to the heater being above the max mark on the exp tank, I would fill the car cold and bleed leaving air in the exp tank, do a run and then find the exp tank brimmed. Release some coolant whilst hot and then carry on. When cold I would have not enough coolant, refill and bleed from the heater with the front in the air and the cycle went on.

In the end I left well alone when it was hot, and then corrected the level when cold after a track day. All has been fine since. I think they need a bit of air in the heater otherwise the air wants to go to the top, which on mine at least appears to be the heater matrix and hence the exp tank fills up. The heater still works and the temps are fine

I have a K 1.6 SS, c/w dry sump, fresh air heater, flat exp tank radtec rad and boggo stat.

  4. I have 4 silver minators for sale. They have a few tyre removing digs on the rims but paint is all good and are true.

6"x13" Dedion PCD offset ET 16 after a bit of measuring and maths.

They are just rims no tyres or centre caps.

    £140 collection/meet up only, I travel a bit around Hants/Bucks, M4 corridor etc

    Pics can be sent.

  5. I have had this issue but in my case only on one bolt in a front hub.

The remainder of the offending bolt came out by hand once the tension was off it, so it may not all be too bad.

Hope it all comes apart easily, when required !!

  6. Hi

I have just fitted some rims with new tyres and put them on the car to run them in before setting off for a track day. I noticed they fill the arches better than my road rims. All rims are 6x13.

After some measuring it appears the offset of the track rims is 18mm, and the road set are 24mm.

I have searched and read numerous threads on this, the track rims had 205 CR500's fitted to them when I got them, I assume therefore the offset is different to allow room for the larger tyre, I am running 185 AO48's.

What effect will these 18mm offset rims have, and most importantly is it damaging to car or tyre ?

    TIA

  7. If you still have the ignition key switch in use, you may find the spare 'Aux' or first position on the switch is available and will have a feed to it already. All you need to do is provide an earth.

I have used this on my K series and have also put in my own in line fuse as well.

This option will obviously not allow charging of the battery without the key in the ignition switch.

    Just another option

  8. I agree with Mark, having just done exactly what you are trying to achieve, but with an older purple pump set up.

The main source of my leak was the scavenge pipe itself, be aware that the length CC sell was too short for the purple pump set up. Think Automotive sell the hose by the metre which solved that problem for me.

  9. Silly thought on this, if it is a USB to serial adaptor, the software can call the serial port No something really daft, like com port 27 or something.

I expect the emerald software is looking for com port 1.

It may be worth having a look to see if the com port No of the serial adaptor is correct.
