  1. Seeing as eu2 engines are getting scarce has anyone swapped a standard Ecu eu2 engine to eu3 engine and ecu setup?

Is it simply remove engine, associated loom and  ecu and then replace with an eu3 setup? Or is there a lot more to it.

    TIA

  2. I have a ford diff c/w lsd fitted in a 96 super light with de Dion and the ratio is stamped on the horizontal flat face just behind the nose. If you get under the car and diff and look at it just clean the flat faces and it could well be there.

  3. On my k with dry dump if I remove the starter some times I have to slacken off the starter bolts a bit then start the car. Stop the engine and tighten the bolts.

The starter doesn't always align nicely and just needs encouragement to fit.

    hope that helps

  4. Photo to follow when I can get to the garage.

The bottom rad hose is different for a dry sump. It goes straight back from the rad for about 50 mm then does a 90 degree turn straight up then turns back towards the engine again. It joins the steel pipe here.

The steel pipe then only just clears the pulley by going over the top of the pulley and pump assembly. The steel pipe has a flattened side to allow it to clear the pulley.

    Hope that helps.

Just had the 80 k service done. New battery fitted at this service.

Alternator belt has a slight noise on cold start up but clears after a few moments.

No dinks but a couple of minor scratches one on the passenger door and another on the rear bumper.

The SR is effectively the T spirit spec with the addition of an alloy gear knob, rear spoiler and exhaust pipe trim, with subtly
    different alloys.

My wife bought the car from new and has had it serviced at Toyota since.

  6. Check all your the connections are tight and good as JK has said.

The symptoms you are suffering are exactly as I had on mine, it turned out to be a useless connector in the main feed to the starter. I replaced it with a good brass one and now she starts fine, no throttle reqd.

  7. I have had these exact symptoms. A brise starter and a banner battery.

After all the usual reset ecu, plugs etc it turned out to be the modified main starter cable. It had a carp connector in it that I replaced with a decent one.

I can now start to the car with no throttle fine. Hot or cold.

As u say a large volt drop caused by too much resistance.
