*eek* Neil, the truth is above you die off at 7600 in the ECU 3 unit, but its not the end of the world just change down quick you'll still get past them. 😬 😬 😬 Dave
  2. KDEANO ask you local sign/graphics company to make you a " pit board marker" as they can't make a number plate for you. This will cost the price of a beer look in OCT' LOW FLYING at pg 10 (red one) leave 11mm spacing around all the letter/ number edges thats what a standard plate has. good luck Dave
  3. Geoff, I am looking to get to track at 7.30 so can help with sign in if needed. see you Thursday, Dave (local South Wales)
  4. Nick, I own 1600ss road sport and this is the set up. ARB on front and not even watts link on rear. Car was brand new and I built it last year. run on 14" rims 185 yoki AO32's never had any serious understeer on track or road, have rear ARB to fit but enjoying the set up at present. Advice given to me by Dave Jackson was why fix it if its not broken type advice.Could agree more drive it hard and see how you get on If in doubt fit an aoro screen you know you want to this will take your mind off any under steer issues 😬 Dave
  5. the sandwich plate and pipes all have brass coupleings and are preassembled. take all bits apart especialy on sandwich plate and tape up for good seal or about Β£40's worth of oil and a few attempts later, you ask your AO for sealing advice. PTFE on brass treads Dave Oil tight *thumbup*
  6. fitted a tank 3weeks ago, did the phone round to see if one could be had cheaper. result was might as well go to CC Β£198 all in kit ,as each other supplier sold just bits. go to Angus& Tess's web link for fitting pictures, invaluable *thumbup* use PTFE tape on the Brass threads they're very leaky. wish I knew this before I fitted. works very well now Dave
  7. 😳 😳 😳 I always find too much gravel in the mats, must be the places I go 😬 😬 😬 mine have never moved as they sit in metal ridges? road sport only possibly Dave

    apollo tank

any ideas, best place to get one? how much?? and how east to fit??? Does it come with instructions???? will need to fit one very soon next few weeks really many thanks Dave
  9. against all advice went for this option so I can put weather kit back on again in a future life πŸ€” fitted both scuttle retaining channels and screen now in place on car after making holes a bit bigger to fit cap head screw through, so far so good. how about the rest πŸ€” πŸ€” πŸ€” side mirrors no problem centre mirror possible what about the two pop fastners in middle of dash πŸ€” πŸ€” πŸ€” do i need to put rubber seal any where πŸ€” πŸ€” πŸ€” instructions were definatley not in huge box full of styrene bits. Dave
  10. Steve, the two flat covers go on rear as you probabley sorted, looking at a picture of mine pre SVA "D" shaped ones on finger catches. as you see the D rounded bit sticking outwards. DON'T USE ANY VISABLE TAPES.AS THIS IS NOT A PERMANANT FIX.this upsets SVA people especially on kit cars I used bluetac to hold bonnet covers on they can't see this. recommend putting them on when you get to test centre as they are as you can see very ill fitting. hope this helps good luck Dave
  11. RJ don't tell anyone I am the Wurth man in Wales. silicone certainly not for fuel and has low heat as you all know. the only products recommended for sealing fuel tanks can generaly only be purchased in very specialised circles. and few would want liability on small things. this is not the place to advertise a brand plus I am on building side of company Dave
  12. Myles, the nature of most produced silicone only alows low temperature tollerance.150c 250c with 300 short term is classed as good as it tends to ignite after this as far as sealant for petrol goes most things get eaten in time but there are some products avaliable depending on usage and as suggested quantity. not cheap Dave
  13. steve P thinners will do it but mind your nice paint job, or you can use T cut this will work but on both you need to get as much of the bulk off as possible, again mind the paint test area recommended first. Dave
  14. Terry field, very much a novice myself. the first track day was like driving miss daisy. so I went out with a few club members .one an acadamy racer the other was just plain up for it in his very modified R400( he also is successful in sprints) this alone changed how i drive on track. I now now am closer to the limits of the car and have taken that to more tracks with huge satisfaction. just by seeing the other side of the racing line and ability of the 7 was running on the z1 's supplied with car now changed to 32's .can't wait to get them out on track. a race track will take your car to the limit if you follow the right line if you are off it it's a pig 1600ss and loving it if you want to get faster see our AO he has his engine for sale dave
  15. 7 heaven soon, looks like the rain must be holding up the milage, I thought you would have had the 5000 by now we live in Wales where the sun only shines on the third Sunday of a new moon.We just asume the back was supposed to slide like that CRB is also intermitant but still a pain, looks like an engine out Dave
  16. Mike E new models appear to have 5 poppers per side and 4 in middle section of cover with FIA bar old models had only 2 poppers in middle section FWIW Dave
  17. 7 heaven, hows that release bearing or haven't you had the service yet? just stuck 32's on mine on 14" rims and as yet not hit sump. tyres superb, and roads in Wales obviously much better. must be EU grants. any cosalation I'm more SV than standard clutch bearing though wining like a pig on market day. must be pork pie pay back Dave
  18. Andrew, if the socket is rounding bin it, if the nut is rounding there are spanners that will undo round nuts as they work on the straight runs of the nut not the pionts. Wurth or snap-on do such spanners and sockets these are pro tools, prices reflect my advice change the wheel nuts once you get them off *eek* Dave ( in the trade)
  19. 😬 😬 😬 Andy , just had 32's fitted today the 150 mile blat home was unbelievable, ss on front s on rear totaly different car 1600ss very impressed, £250 fitted *thumbup*
  20. OMP suite info suggests tacking badge to outer layer only. not to go through nomex layers. a nice neat butterfly stitch would be nice

Just tried to fit the suggested horns from halfrauds and they don't work. the loom is fused opposite to electric map 86 brown 30 p/yell 87 p/br 30 needs swapping over with 87 in main fuse wire box is this worth effort as the spade connectors are a ❗ to get out with out damage. any advice those who have fitted 2003 ecu3
  24. *thumbup* spot on guys, found black thingy of to right and stuck tape on end bliss CHEERS 😬 😬 😬
  25. Can't seem to find beeper ❗ ❗ ❗ traced niose back to fuse box, the thingy that seems to make the niose appears to be the black box behind the fuse for indicator πŸ€” πŸ€” πŸ€” take it out and no beep 😬 also no indicator *mad* problem solved see for sale section " MOMO QUICK RELEASE WHEEL" if you don't go round the bend you stop hearing the beeps *confused* Just off to take the toaster for a walk
