  1. sorry for the blur best I could get, at least you can make out the part number 😁
  2. So nearly there - few bits of IVA trim to sort and then off for PBC & IVA. Just done a run up to temp on the engine and I noticed that the rev counter is reading about 1/8 of the revs I would expect, I know there are dip switches for third party rev counters I have looked at for my land rover etc. but is there any adjustment on the standard Caterham? The mirror are total ***** - have to prise off the mirror to connect them to the windows frame, really shoddy stuff 🤔 Anyway here is he is trying to look past the Defender and see the new world 😁
  3. @Ainsley I thought you couldn’t legally drive to the PBC?
  4. Sorry yes Nyloc Nuts, not Nylon or Nylon bolts...😆 There is no play whatsoever in the bracket holding the gearbox, I had to push the gearbox further into the passenger side with a prybar to get the bolts in. I think it has been manufactured incorrectly, it was pretty scabby and had powder coating missing from it iun places so have emailed Caterham for advice / new bracket. The frigging upper wishbones are missing as well, and there is no pick list to check everything else against, at the start of a bank holiday. looks like the front suspension is going to wait for a while 😒 Plenty to do though 🙂 thanks for all the help!
  5. Sorry yes - both of you are right these were just standard bolts I had lying around to get everything in place before I used the Nylon bolts with washer once I tightened it up. My car is the SV which I think made getting the engine in easier I think, but the gearbox bracket was a PITA. I have next week off to crack on with the car so will contact Caterham and I think I need a "better" gearbox bracket to pull the gearbox central. Time to start the front suspension 😁
  6. So got the bracket on with a pry bar but the gearbox is very much touching the tunnel....
  7. Just fitting the engine all in fine but the gearbox bolts won't align on the gearbox bracket and the gearbox is touching the heatshielding on the passenger side (where you would move the gearbox to make the bracket fit). Is it safe to dremel the holes slightly bigger? Is it OK for the gearbox to be in contact with one of rhe uprights in the gearbox tunnel??
  8. @Jonathan Kay yes please to the old manual, and no I hadn't seen the loan list, thank you very much!
  9. Afternoon, just received my 360S kit yesterday so I have questions, so many questions... (I have consumed many blogs, forums etc. while waiting ) Is the V2.0 2015 Caterham IVA checklist the latest version? The build instructions say to get the latest from caterham.com but can't even find this older version on the site. I have started to dry fit the trim to the front of the car and there seems to be discussion on just the top of the holes, or all the edges, is there a best practice here? A logical way to secure these test fits would appear to be to just add glue to the back once they are fitted and in place, is there any pitfall to this approach? Currently using just bubble wrap to protect paintwork and pipe insulation on the chassis members as I feel that cardboard against paint could scratch the paint or am I being to paranoid and need something stronger that thin bubble wrap. I can't find the pick list on any box, should that concern me??! And finally (for now) while I wait for my mate to drop over his engine hoist later in the week is there any downfall to starting on the front wishbones other than it making the chassis a bit wider to move about? Thanks
