  1. With a complete lifestyle change scheduled for next year, its not absolute necessary that I have to sell right now. Unfortunately with little opportunity to get out and enjoy it I thought it would be a good idea to test the water and see what interest there might be. Doesn't mean however that I will be giving up the club, it just means that I wll be using a more 'conservative' means of transport. ☹️
  2. Reluctant sale of nearly new 1.8 X Power 140 BHP Roadsport. SVA'd by Caterham in April, 1600 dry miles only, spec as follows: Caterham Yellow Black pack FIA Bar 5 Speed, alloy gear knob Apollo Tank R3/4/500 polished exhaust system with titanium silencer De- Deon with rear ARB Rear Braided brake pipes 13" Minator wheels (black centre, polished outer) with 185/70 Yoko AO21R tyres Spare wheel as above Leather seats Momo removable steering wheel 4 point harnesses Starter button Shift lights Tonneau Fire extinguisher Flared wings The car would cost £23000 new and is spotless. Virtually unused and a bargain at £16500. Interested parties can contact me on 01234 831788 or mobile 07803 585139. I do work obscure hours, but if you leave a message I will get back to you. ☹️

Is the compatibility issue with the EU3 sorted now 🤔
  4. Andy, this is common trait of all sevens. The fact that your virtually sat next to the diff magnifies the sound somewhat. You may also find that the gearbox whines an rattles when your stationary as well. This too is common and it caused by the layshaft gears ratlling on the layshaft. Depress the clutch and all should be fine. I think Caterham call it 'drivetrain shunt' Afraid to say it, but 'thy all do that' 😬
  5. Gearbox, yes you ned to remove the hub nuts to remove the disc & hub, and then the four bolts to remove the de dion ears. ISTR that you will have to remove the calipers as well, plus if you have a later rear anti roll bar you will need to disconnect that. When re-assembling dont forget to tighten the rear hub nuts to 200ib/ft.
  6. Very satisfied with my Chris W (enterprises) shift light, looks great, works a treat and looks the dogs whatsits 😬
  7. Baldrick, there are a number of threads on this topic (half of them from me ) Anyone telling you that its an easy job to a) polish and b) maintain is telling porkies. For my sins I decided to leave my bonnet bare aluminium and had dreams of it glistening and perfectly polished. The job is a total 🙆🏻 and the only formulae is hard work and loads of sweat. FWIW I have tried, autosol, mothers, T Cut, duraglit and normal polish. It looks moderately ok but Ive come to the conclusion that it is a time thing, and over time with continual polishing you might get the results you desire. Personaly I cant wait until I've got £150 to get the bloody thing painted Good luck.
  8. FWIW I use K&N Minators, the ones with the polished outer rim and black centres. They look very similar to the old style Minilites. There is a picture of them on the Caterham website if you look in the parts & accesories section. However I bought them along with the Yokos from Geoge Polley, cheap as chips and IMO make a great combination. One further point if , like me you have flared wings you may find the 185/60 profile tyres look a bit 'lost' under the arches. I use 70 profile tyres, it fills the arches and looks better. I dont think you can beat Yoko tyres for performance and price.
  9. Bibba, I would suggest for track use you use 13" wheels with 185/60 profile tyres. General opinion seems to favour Yoko AO32 s for dry use AO21Rs for a decent allround wet/dry tyre or Avon ACB10 for balls out dry track running. I'm surprised you haven't been inundated with options on this one. 😬
  10. Definately Halfords Professional, great value and look good quality. I built mine with the 3/8" drive kit with the ratchet spanners. The problem is you will need metric and AF deep sockets and a set of allen sockets are ideal. The list goes on but at the end of it all you'll have a great tool kit.
  11. Rich, if you substitute one of the poppers on the tonneau for a double popper and put an additional popper on the side screen, you can close the sidscreen to the tonneau. It works a treat, especially when you want to use the passenger half of the tonneau and not take the sidscreen off.
  12. Hark , I hear my name being metioned in vain 😬 I do indeed have a Chris W enterprise shift light system and it looks the dogs whatsits and perform superbly. The beauty of the set up is that it can be adjusted to suit your personal preferences. I just love seeing those row of lights coming on. Great value too. Highly recommended.
  13. Prisoner, it seems unlikely that the noise is clutch release bearing if it goes when you depress the clutch. Almost certainly it is the gears rattling on the layshaft, and as offputting as it sounds they really all do that with varying degrees of severity. Dont waste your time stripping out the engine. You'll know when the C/RB bearings gives up the ghost, they tend to squeel loudly when the clutch is depressed. Hope this helps.
  14. And don't fill it right to the brim..................because within two miles youv'e lost half of it
