  1. Mark, I'm planning on going to the fish and chip run as well - are you heading down on Sunday morning? there may be a few chaps from Penn 7's going as well. If you fancy blatting accross together let me know. Chris S7UPL (it's a SUPerLight 7...) - Le Mans 07 Car no:41
  2. Just looked at your webshots - was definitely you! I was going the other way in SWMBO's brothers car (A4 diesel rag top thing...awful) I think you had a passenger, not sure, it was just as you were coming up to the speed camera before the roundabout with the Landrover Garage nearby. Would rather have been out in the 7 but had been (forced) to see the outlaws for lunch. The only time I got out in it this weekend was to get the MOT done. Are you local? 3. Cheers chaps... Like this then: S7UPL (it's a SUPerLight 7...) - Le Mans 07 Car no:41
  4. Spotted you at about 4ish heading out of town on Weedon Road S7UPL (it's a SUPerLight 7...) - Le Mans 07 Car no:41
  5. Ignore this - I'm teaching myself how to do a 'quote' thingy
  6. Yep, must have been you she saw. I got the plate wrong it is C7PHL. I think you followed her for a bit, she was in the Silver Saab. Were you at the Squirrel on Saturday? S7UPL (it's a SUPerLight 7...) - Le Mans 07 Car no:41
  7. Spotted by SWMBO at 7.30 ish this morning. Purple with yellow nose I think she said. S7UPL (it's a SUPerLight 7...) - Le Mans 07 Car no:41
  8. What can I say, the passenger I had with me at the time is somewhat 'rotund'. If you like, I've got a photo I can send you! (drive shaft that is...not the passenger)
  9. hmmm, not sure how I missed this...but I had actually snapped a half shaft 😳. I must book an appointment at the opticians... Caterham parts delivered within 2 days it's sitting next to me on my desk
  10. Thanks Michael, seen these chaps on Angus and Tessa's website. This will be the first bit of work I've done on the Seven myself. Have worked on other cars before but I'm far from being a proficient mechanic. Where's the best place to get a manual from? - direct from Caterham? Chris
  11. Thanks chaps Before I phone Caterham and ask them....does anyone how much a new slippy diff is going to cost me? (I ask this question purely to take the sting out of the inevitable!!)
  12. I can move the car in gear with the engine off with no problems at all...not a good sign. I'm going to jack it up tonight and we'll see what happens... Cheers chaps
  13. When I tried to drive I had nothing going to the wheels at all and a fairly rapid knocking sound coming from the back of the car. After the initial few bangs I pulled it out of gear and coasted to a layby to avoid anything eating itsef further.
  14. Had a slightly airborn moment on Saturday. This was a bit unexpected, I was flat out in 2nd at the time so goodness only knows how high I was revving before I touched down again. The moment I touched down was when something let go with an almighty bang. My instincts tell me that it's probably the Diff that's exploded (the car's a Suplerlight with a 6-speed and a LSD). The engine seemed fine and I could select gears which would suggest that the box is intact. Also the drive shafts were intact when I looked underneath...no fluids leaking either. Has anyone had a similar experiance? Is the Diff fairly straight forward to sort? Thanks Chris
  15. Just had exactly the same problem, did a quick search on 'indicators' and found this thread- flicking the hazards on and off worked a treat! right then, I'm off out in it! Blatchat rules 😬 😬 😬
  16. Ali body, Carbon nose-cone and yellow 7 grill. SWMBO and I waved back at you with big grins 😬 😬 as we'd just come from Waddeston on the best road in Bucks! - I assume you were heading that way? Edited by - chris whitten on 22 Jan 2007 09:27:41
  17. Spotted you spotting me in mine (Silver with Red nose trim) just past the firecrest today at 1.30ish. Did you get home before the heavens opened?? 😬 Chris
  18. Thanks for all the suggestions chaps . Encyclopaedia Blatchattica is the way to enlightenment! 😬
  19. This is me - http://www.frappr.com/?a=photo&gid=377065&pid=2749519&src=flash_slideticker, it's the only picture online that I know of, I think we've spoken a couple of times? - not sure how to do the 'here' thing yet!
  20. Cheers Adrian, I've sent him the link - you up at Penn Sevens this weekend?
  21. Looks like they are the chaps - near milton keynes??
  22. Does anyone know of a custom exhaust manufacturer in the High Wycombe area? A mate of mine has fitted a 450bhp 5.0ltr Ford V8 to his TVR Tuscan (the Speed 6 lump kept eating itself so it's been binned), the engine mounts are sorted and it's basically in, apparently getting the exhaust sorted is his next headache... Chris
  23. I no doubt expect that there will be a number of different opinions but here is my question... I've got A032's, however after about 3000 miles the rears are now down to the wear markers and will need replacing soon, the fronts still have some life in them. I've heard that the 32's aren't available anymore?? If so I'm thinking of going for the 48's as I've heard that they are similar. So my question is should i.. A. Swap the front's and rears that I currenty have around (and risk an understeer problem...) B. Replace them all in one hit, which would seem a shame to bin the part worn fronts. Or is there another option I've not considered...? Chris
