  1. I need a second set of wheels so swapping doesnt help me unfort. Do you know if there is any weight difference between the Apollos and the KN 8 spoke wheels?
  2. Looking for a staggered set of these 6x13 and 8x13 wheels
  3. My 420R SV was recently in with Caterham for a few tweaks. I had been complaining of a banging sound when going over very bumpy roads as if the car was bottoming out maybe. Caterham told me my radius arms had been set to ‘S’ and should be set to ‘R’ and this would likely stop the noises i was complaining about. I’ve since had the car back and I think moving it from S to R has improved but not eradicated the horrible noise over potholes/ big undulations. Ive also taken it out on track since getting it back. I must say I can’t really say that I have noticed any obvious difference in road or track handling since they adjusted from S to R position. It’s not obvious to me from looking at the geometry which difference in handling you should expect from switching between the two positions.
  4. Thats very neat. I ended up buying a 14" longacre mirror with standard mounting brackets but prefer the recessed look of yours. I also have the same trackday rollcage. What is the box above the mirror with the red R on it?
  5. 👍Cheers! Will send over a message now
  6. Don’t want the hole for two reasons 1. I’m personally not a fan of the external box looks, prefer cleaner look for bonnet but each to their own 2. Noise - i understand that ITBs are noisier than single plenum, and even noisier if airbox is outside. I would be really unhappy if I spent a chunk of money on performance upgrades and then but then got black flagged for noise on track where you really want to unleash it all. Most tracks seem to be 101-105db static noise limit and I think I’m currently around 97/98db static on a factory standard single plenum.
  7. They suggested 45mm but that might be because I said I didn’t want to cut a hole in the bonnet (my car is SV body). Do you know what bhp or torque diffs 48mm offer over 45mm on a like for like comparison?
  8. I am interested in upgrading my 420R to Jenveys and heard Nothampton Motorsport were one of the best in the business at doing this upgrade. Incl VAT they quoted me £2,042 in parts and 11 hours labour at £1,176 to install and map on their rolling road. It looks like 6.5hours of installation work and 4.5hours of mapping/ callibraiton. They recommended 45mm ITBs for under bonnet fitment. They quoted an extra £350ish for cutting a hole in bonnet to accomodate an extrnal air box. I guess an external box allows for colder/denser air intake and maybe to allow for bigger trumpets, but not sure how much extra performance this would give? My car currently starts and idles perfectly, has great low revs/ low throttle manners and I cant really say it lacks power, however I love the noise of ITB cars make at high rpm! As its a non-trivial amount of money I'd love to experience Jenveys before I buy. So if anyone in Surrey/ London area would offer a demo I''d be eternally grateful. Here's the breakdown of my quote (under bonnet mount) for those interested.
  9. Sorry Oli, these sold within 10 minutes of posting. I obviously advertised them too cheap!
  10. Im selling a pair of excellent condition convex carbon fibre wing mirrors plus DPR black nut conversion kit and mounting screws. The DPR kit allows much easier adjustment of the mirrors than any other mounting system Ive come across. The glass is unmarked and 100% clear. I have had these attached to my eccles mounts for about 9 months but have switched to full cage and half doors with different mirrors. Im looking for £120 for the lot. I will post to anywhere in UK or buyer can collect from SW London.

    2021 420R

That is an incredible spec car and with those optional extras I think it should be snapped for 42k especially with spring on the way.
  12. thanks for those pics. i guess thats the 15" pitking not the 17"? is your car an S3 or SV?
  13. I have a trackday roll cage on an SV car and need a cage mounted rear view mirror. This will be for road use and the occasional trackday. I see there is a 15" Pitking mirror with one long (2.0-5.5" adjustment ) and one short (0.5-2.5" adjustment) mounting clamp from demon tweeks. OR theres a 14" Longacre mirror with equal length mounting clamps. I assume the 17" Longacre mirror is probably excessively wide for an SV cage? Any recommendations on any of the above options? If you go for equal length shorter clamps can the mirror be angled towards the driver enough to get an optimal rear view? OR.....
  14. This throttle body was removed from my 2020 Caterhan 420R which had covered about 4,000 miles at the time. The item is in perfect working order Please note the item does not inclued the TPS fitment. If needed this can be purchased from Caterham for around £80 This item is £625.70 from Caterham with the TPS. Its advertised on facebook Caterham Market Place and eBay for £349, open to offers. Will post to anywhere in UK
  15. This is a full hood plus hood bag and hood stick assembly It has never been attached to the car and has been stored in its bag from new It has only been taken out of its bag once for photos for this advert It has the all important zip out rear window allowing excess heat/ condensation out if driving in the rain to prevent misting up in the cabin. There are some minor dirt/ dust marks on the inside of the hood roof but these would brush out with a proper clean There is no damage or wear on the hood or hood bag Please note this is for an SV body car The new prices from Caterham are as follows: - Hood £884.92 - Hood stick assembly £84.75 - Hood bag £171.49 - Hood straps x2 £36.22 Total new would be £1,177.38 - make me an offer! Please note the item is also for sale on facebook Caterham Marketplace and eBay Item located in SW London
  16. I have a gearbox and diff oil change coming up (mazda 5 speed with BMW/Titan LSD diff) - do you happen to know which of those lovely magnetic plugs would fit my gearbox and diff? Car is a 2020 420R
  17. If it’s just 1-2 seconds a lap, then i suspect the money is better spent on tuition and improving my driving skills. Am sure Lewis Hamilton would be faster around Anglesey on a dog eared set of ZZS than I would be on a fresh set of ZZR for example, though appreciate that’s a bit of a wierd comparison…
  18. Apologies for hijacking the thread but on a semi-related matter, does anyone know how to disable the horrendously irritating indicator beeping noise. Im hoping its just a case of pulling/ cutting a wire, if its even possible. My car is a 2020 420R
  19. Thats interesting, I was thinking about getting a second set of Apollo 13s shod in ZZR for trackdays/summer but it sounds like it would be a bit of a waste of money for such a marginal performance gain over my existing ZZS. Was hoping someone would tell me ZZR would really come to life on track and justify my upgraditis tendencies...
  20. i guess there will be some unsold stock of ZZRs floating around. Either way just keen understand how much better performance the ZZRs offer under warm, dry conditions flat out driving
  21. I have been using Avon ZZS tyres on my car for road and track use, summer and winter. I thought the ZZS tyres were pretty good on track but Im curious to know how much better the ZZR tyre is on track? Anyone driven both on track who can share insights on comparisons? I presume the ZZR are pretty lethal on cold/damp roads and to be avoided for winter road driving?
  22. that’s a very clever adaption of a windscreen to make it an aero(ish) kind of screen! Would love to know how they managed to cut the glass with a smooth curve and make it safe
  23. I saw a previous thread on YC plastics half doors but IIRC there was talk of needing a heat gun to mould them to fit properly which put me off as I’d prefer more direct fit than that. Also someone mentioned something about preferring plastic half doors to carbon fibre half doors on safety grounds - why would carbon fibre half doors be less safe than plastic ones?
  24. I’d like to get some half doors - just wondering if there was any brand/ supplier (other than Caterham) which people recommend? I understand that they can be made in vinyl, plastic or carbon. What are the various fixing options to the car? Can they be hinged or do they have to be attached by poppers and thus require new poppers riveted to the side body/ scuttle? My preference would be hinged. Any pictures of what people have and how they are attached would be very helpful!
