  1. The X5A's are a snug fit not tight but very snug is that something you get used to? Thank you for the advice, I will wear the Auritech ear plugs underneath when I'm wearing my sunglasses.
  2. Thank you. The X5A ear defenders have now arrived. I'm fortunate so far and only need readers, sunglasses could be a issue I hadn't thought about..
  3. X5A it is then. Brilliant thank you
  4. Once again thank you Jonathan..
  5. I'm in the process of trying to workout the best ear protection for driving my Sigma powered 7 fitted with a peashooter exhaust. I'm thinking 3M Peltor Opitime lll ear defenders I don't wish to listen to music or have any intercom so would the Peltor X5A be just a waste or a better ear protection?
  6. I wasn't sure on which section I needed to ask this question on, I figured it's more technical.. I have a peashooter exhaust fitted to my Sigma powered car so as you'll know the exhaust is on the drivers side. What would be considered the best ear protection? I am currently using these below without helmet, they do cancel out the wind noise but the exhaust is still quite loud. Any recommendations or advice? https://www.amazon.co.uk/AURITECH-Earplugs-Generation-Protection-Motorcyclists/dp/B013B93O86
  7. Thank you. Avon recommend a lot higher tyre pressure than I've been running.
  8. Hi all, Relatively new to trackdays, so I could be moidering over nothing. I had my car flat floored and the geo done last October. I'm not aggressive so I don't bounce over the curbs.I run pressures of 19psi adjusting throughout the day. After very few laps I get some tyre scrubbing. I had a wander around the pits at Oulton this weekend to have a look at other Caterham tyre wear, none seemed to be scrubbed like mine. The attached photos are after a 60+mile drive home. I don't get any visible tyre scrub on normal/spirited road use. Any opinions or advice.
  9. I'm considering buying and fitting a new carbon dash from Ultimate Carbon the one with the cut outs for the gauges and switches already done. I haven't got a clue where to start..Is it a job for a novice or should I entrust this job to a professional ? 1/ Do I remove the scuttle, if so how? 2/ How do I remove the old dash and how to refit the new one? How is the dash fixed in place?
  10. Hi, Im looking for a speedometer for a 2010 Sigma powered car..,

    ZZR 185/55/13

Road legal Avon ZZR 185/55/13 needed with enough tread depth to drive to a trackday do the trackday and drive back home.
  12. I thought understeer myself, but not sure if it would be excessive..
  13. Hi all, I have a decent pair of 215/55/13 ZZR's rears and a decent pair of 185/55/13 ZZS fronts. I'm pondering the thought of maximising the usage of these tyres without buying yet more tyres for track use. Any thoughts on what I could expect with this mixed setup on track?

  16. I've got to ask, what are the dates and how much?
  17. Thank you for that..Wear not as bad as first thought then! Thankfully I have a spare set of wheels and tyres I've been using for trackdays.
  18. Would anybody know the tread depth of a brand new ZZS tyre 215/55/13? I've just checked my rears which are only 9 months old and they are showing 3.7 mm right across the tyre.
  19. Exactly, it's a bugger when the technique needs to be explained to me lol...
  20. Quick update Went out last night for a quick blat. Filled up at the same local Shell station I've always used. Once the nozzle was inserted fully I pushed it towards the front of the car keeping it a little more vertical, hey presto 1st time ever the auto shut off clicked off Thanks all..
  21. #13 I will make sure the said nozzle is fully home and more vertical. I always feather the trigger I only ever give it the full gas for a few seconds if I'm filling from empty.
  22. Thanks, I'll do that and see if it makes a difference.
  23. I have, is it easily removed?
  24. Yeah nozzle inserted as far in as it will go, the petrol will just overflow passed the nozzle once it's getting full. I use 3 different Shell service staitions in my area and it does it at each one.
