    Camber Gauge

Ok with ride height. There's a part of the drive that's level so I'll check it on there too.

    Camber Gauge

Garage floor is level and full fuel. Followed instructions. Rear tyre wear is even so not bothered about rears. Front are little uneven, maybe road camber. Have a Trackrite Toe in gauge just arrived so need to check track.

    Camber Gauge

Bought the Gunsons Camber gauge and although it is for steel wheels there is an attachment for aluminium wheels. The problem was when I checked the Camber both were 2 degrees instead of the 1 degree 20 min plus or minus 15 mins. When I checked both items against a known vertical datum the gauge was out. I thought it was the additional tool but turned out to be the spirit level in the gauge. Removed the faceplate and thankfully the spirit level can be zeroed against the vertical datum. Rechecking the camber on the front wheels established they are as near as dam it correct. This is a good tool and accurate once its correct. Hope this helps if you are contemplating buying one
  7. Just checked my camber gauge and the wheel contact tool is a few thou out at the tip hence the tape. When I now check the gauge against an upright vertical surface the camber on the car is correct.
  8. Jonathan, can I probe your experience and ask if my Caterham front wheel camber angles are both exactly 2 degrees neg. as apposed to the 1 degree 20 mins plus or minus 15 mins. Would this warrant the need to adjust. The car was Caterhams and I assume they set it as such
  9. My post was directed to anyone removing a Cat for road use. I did ask why and in the absence of a reply I assumed you were in that group. As you have clarified you are not please accept my sincere apology. I commend you for your compliance with the Regulation requirement. If it assists Rocol produce this anti seize spray used for ovens and very high temperature areas. https://www.bearings-online.co.uk/item/2714/ROCOL/ROCOL-14015-Anti-Seize-Spray.html?vat_inc=true&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIh676_f-h9AIVC7TtCh1MrgNdEAQYBSABEgJDY_D_BwE
  10. I personally don't keep Bovines and Caterham will supply them for track use.
  11. Surprised the Club sanctions it.
  12. Removing the cat will certainly preserve it but the exhaust emission will not then benefit from its presence nor will the law be satisfied. I dont think that excuse would satisfy a Magistrate as a defence in law.
  13. Why would you want to remove it, A catalytic converter is an exhaust emission control device that converts toxic gases and pollutants in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine into less-toxic pollutants by catalyzing a redox reaction. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/modifying-your-vehicles-emissions/modifying-your-vehicles-emissions-the-legal-safety-and-health-implications

  16. Where does it catch the oil from and I believe there is a remap or is it a new ecu.
  17. Upgrading it next week. Whats the plastic bottle and bits for and what do they do apart from the obvious.
  18. Why do you want a lighter flywheel. There are pros and cons. Are you planning on racing. https://mechanics.stackexchange.com/questions/28561/what-are-the-benefits-of-a-lightweight-flywheel-and-why-arent-they-lightweight
  19. Take plenty of photo's before you undo/remove anything so you have a reference where cables/pipes went and how components should fit. What mileage has the car done. There could be things that would be wise to replace whilst engine and gearbox are out.
