Did they forget the CAT on my car?!!

Funnily enough, when I was specifying my factory build 420, Caterham could not tell me what the rear exit track exhaust DB was, or the reduction! I went with it to be on the safe side. I also notice on mine it just has one silencer box on the side, no separate cat - is that in the main box now?

When I look at the cost of the car in my garage in terms of components, its staggeringly pathetic they aren't making a profit when you consider the complete lack of development costs on something that hasn't changed in decades bar the engines they buy in.

Urgh. I'll be going via a decent dealer. Car is going to Williams in a few weeks for first service, and to align the headlights that were delivered less than finger tight! The conversation with them has so far been very good.

I've ordered a few longish lead time vehicles, Porsche being one, and they havent passed on price rises, and even held part exchange offers for longer....

They really are ******* of the highest order. You signed a contract, paid a hefty deposit and 5 months later they ask for £2.5k more. It shows their absolute arrogance and contempt for their customers, not to mention not having a decent handle on their costs. I found my buying experience nothing short of disgraceful. A bunch of more clueless ******** I have not come across more, and I've dealt with most manufacturers, new and used, including Lotus and TVR..... They don't deserve their success and their attitude will come back to haunt them at some point. (*Edited by Moderator)

Just ran my config through. My factory built 420 came in at £44,575 including OTR charges. Now £46,585 excluding OTR charges.

Doubtful unless you have a ridiculous exhaust. Id say if you can do a track day you'll be fine.

Response: At the moment there isn't as there is a need for a new number plate bracket and subloom, both are being worked on in engineering so should hopefully not be too long. Regards Darren

Unsurprising. They must have a plan for new orders with spare?

I just asked caterham if they do an LED kit if you have the spare carrier. Given it is an option on the new car you would think so...... Given all the messing about people have to do and taking a drill to a new car, I'm losing interest in the idea.
