  1. I am in if its not too late. Have mailed Steve.
  2. i have a set - drop me a pm
  3. Purchased in error, brand new £80 collect from South London
  4. Thanks for the replies. I havent got as far as the gearbox mount so will try that at the weekend. Handbrake cable was a possible but have protected/moved it so its not that. Shocks are new, with new bolts and torqued up. The hunt continues.
  5. Hi all I have a live axle (ital) xflow that has developed a mechanical click when the drivetrain is put under load when the clutch is let out in gear - most noticeably when pulling away. When on the move there is no perceptible noise When driving the sound appears to come from the drivers side rear put upon further inspection with Rob at Ratrace it may be passenger side rear and the sound is traveling. Things i have done/checked: Spanner check of rear axle, suspension and brakes Replaced the rear shocks/springs - a necessary upgrade required anyway Checked the diff for oil Checked the prop UJ's and greased Checked the wheel bearings Checked the radius arm bushes - there is no visible movement when the car is held on the brakes and the clutch let out Replaced the centre A arm bushes Any other ideas? Sean

    Ital CWP

Hi Am after a 3.7 (i think thats right). Currently have a 4.1 and its not ideal. Cheers
  7. All sorted - new sump and pickup ordered from redline.
  8. Hello all Anyone got one of these stashed away? Needs to the the old type with the gauze end, rather than the new type that Burton stock. Engine is in for a rebuild at ratrace and the old pickup has a big hole in the gauze, the replacement from Burton doesnt fit. Cheers Sean
  9. Just removed from the car and in great condition. £150. Collection from South London.
  10. cheers - sent you a pm. Mad'In are a french wheel company, used on a lot of formula fords that have an ital bolt pattern
  11. Ideally after a set of Mad'In wheels but looks like I have missed the boat from all the old FF teams, so anything you may have lurking at the back of the garage considered.
  12. Anyone have a 6" or 7" silencer to fit a xflow. Sean
  13. Does anyone have the damper lengths (open and closed) for a live axle car - have searched the site but all discussions seem to be around DD cars. Am thinking of moving to a rose jointed rear damper (based on advice on this site). My front wishbones are the trunnion type if that makes a difference to the front measurements. Was hoping to find the measurements without having to strip the car down. Also any recommendations for live axle cars (for track days and maybe some sprinting next season) - I see Spax still list them but never been a spax fan after running them on my original Mini. Many thanks Sean
  14. I will strip off the hoses and give them a check and run the pump into a container to ensure its ok. May also order up a new facet filter (even though the current one is only 6 months old)
  15. It is very odd. The fuel pump sounds like it is unable to draw fuel from the tank (the pump is adjacent) so something within the tank may be a possibility. The car has a caterham filler (the flat aero type) - are these vented? The fact I still had the issue with the filler cap removed may rule out venting as the problem.
  16. Checked the throttle cable and didnt appear to be sticking, and also removed filler cap to see if it was a venting issue - will keep working through the options
  17. Evening I took the seven out on Friday, the hottest day of the year and had a couple of what i think must be related issues. Engine is a 1.6 crossflow, electric fuel pump and filter king regulator installed adjacent to the pedal box. Car started and ran fine with idle at about 800-900 rpm as normal. On startup i could hear the electric fuel pump clicking and then slowing as it came up to pressure. Normally this is the only time I hear the pump. During the drive with the car up to temp I intermittently started to hear the fuel pump and noticed that at idle the revs had increased to 1200 at idle. Headed for home and pump was audible more and more and the car started to misfire. With the bonnet off all looked ok and I could see some fuel in the filter king, but the car wouldnt start and the pump continued to click as if trying to come up to pressure. After 15 mins I tried again, the pump quietened, car started and I got home. I have checked for air leaks and fuel leaks and there are none, tank has fuel, put a gauge on the filter king and get a steady 3psi, car starts and now idles back at 800rpm so i am a bit stuck. Could it be that the filter king got too hot? Not sure how that would account for the fast idle though or indeed the lack of fuel pressure Sean
  18. Would anyone have one of these? Have searched all the normal places and cant find one. Cheers Sean
  19. I would be interested in this info also
  20. I have the Sealey and bled the brakes on the 7 recently. Used 20psi and it worked well.
  21. Thanks Roger that is reassuring to know. Will give the pump a strip down and check and go from there.
  22. Evening everyone. I have a 1.6 AX block crossflow in what i believe is standard config. When cold at idle i see 35-40psi on a mechanical gauge and at load about 55-60. When the car is up to temp the pressure at idle drops to around 25psi and at load is around 50. Plan to do an oil and filter change but wondered if as a precaution I should change the oil pump, and if i do, should I go for a standard replacement or a high pressure, or high pressure/high capacity. Intention is for a winter rebuild and capacity increase so if I went for an uprated pump it would be needed for the rebuilt engine but would there be any downside using it for the standard 1.6? Cheers Sean
  23. have you got any photos you could share?
  24. Was that using the caterham lower wishbone with spherical bearing or the bolt on trunion replacement to the original wishbone?
