  1. Afternoon all. Have spent a few hours in the archives but am struggling to find a definitive answer so thought I would ask.... I have a mid 90's (registered) crossflow live axle car that still has the trunnion lower front suspension. I have replaced the top wishbones (were originally two piece) for single piece and would now like to replace the trunnions for spherical bearings. Ordinarily I understand the method would be to replace the vertical links (for the later type) and bolt on new wishbones, but in my case the lower wishbones use the Y9 front bush (and a smaller bolt size) rather than the regular bush type and I have found nothing in the archives on a wishbone that has a y9 front bush, regular rear, and a spherical bearing for the vertical link. A couple of threads have mentioned the Canley Classics Trunnionless conversion but when i spoke to them this morning they said their upright is designed to use the Caterham lower wishbone with the spherical joint which in my case doesnt seem to be an option, and the trunnion replacement may not work with the caterham arms - picture here on the rimmer bros website https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-RL1685 Anyone done the conversion with the same wishbones or any other options? Many thanks Sean
  2. thanks. I had probably explained it poorly. My plan wasnt to move the scuttle but just enlarge the screen stanchion mounting holes a touch to allow the top of the screen to move forward a few mm
  3. yes, good point. Will give that a go.
  4. I did and gained a couple of mm but need a few more mm to prevent contact and open a reasonable gap between screen and cage.
  5. Am in the process of fitting a new (to me) Safety Devices Roadsport cage to my 97 live axle car. The cage is in and all the bolts line up which is good news. I have one issue in that the top frame of the screen fouls - by a few mm, the top horizontal on the front of the cage. My plan was to ease the rear two scuttle screen mount holes to allow me to rotate the screen forward a few mm - is this advisable/acceptable? As a follow-up I then intended to run a thin strip of self-adhesive foam tape between the screen frame and the cage - just to prevent any chaffing. Is that what others do? Thanks in advance Sean
  6. Yes, super lucky to find one from a member on here. Now just need to get it shipped and fitted.
