  1. Cheers Tony, I have emailed Caterham but I've not had a reply, don't know if I should take that as good news. Hope your car passes the IVA on Tuesday
  2. It is a new build, all the bolts on the engine and gearbox mounts etc are all in position. The gearbox does seem to be touching the chassis on the LHS and the alignment is more to the LHS side of the tunnel than central

    Gearbox

Hi, I'm after a bit of reassurance regarding the alignment of my gearbox. I installed the engine and gearbox over the weekend and the process went very smoothly. Reading the various great build blog on the internet I know that gearbox in the tunnel is cigarette paper tight but my gearbox is actually digging into the heat shield insulation and sitting on the chassis. Is this to be excepted with the 5-speed gearbox and S3 chassis combo? Thanks
  4. Discovered the reason why the offside bracket has the spacer not wielded in place, is due to that it is not required on left-hand drive cars
  5. I've just had a closer look at the guide and picture actually shows the spacer separated from the mounting bracket, doh
  6. Evening All, So I've been slowing working my way through the build of my kit and the majority of it has been going well, the installation of the front anti-roll bar was the biggest pain in the bum, so far. Moving onto the next stage which is the engine installation, I was removing the engine mounting brackets from the engine when a spacer from the bracket fell off, of the four spacers, three have been wielded. Is this by design or a QA issue? It's the offside bracket Cheers
  7. Thanks Jim I found the report, an interesting read. The document can be found here if anyone else is interested - http://www.bilthamber.com/media/downloads/PG-BH13-001.pdf
  8. Morning, Does have anyone have any experience using the rust prevention products from Corrolan? https://www.rust.co.uk/product/cat/corrolan-sustainable-rust-proofing-43 I was maybe thinking of using Corrolan instead of Dinitrol Thanks
  9. More specifically I'm thinking about the wiring of the headlamps, as making the hole slightly wider on the headlight bracket for the gormet, wires etc may make life easier.

    Paint

Evening, I'm hoping to take delivery of my kit next week, naturally, I've been reading the various building blogs etc and expecting that the front suspension elements will need some dremal work at some point so I'm looking to get some touch-up paint. Is the black that Caterham use on the headlight brackets/suspension elements a stain or gloss finish? Thanks
