Caterham Cars Ltd are inviting Caterham and Lotus 7 Club members to join them on their first event of 2022, and what better way to kick off than with an exclusive track day. Caterham Cars will take over the entirety of Snetterton Circuit on Tuesday 12th April 2022 to host a Caterham Seven only track day. Running on the ‘300’ layout, the day will be operating an open pit lane format with a limited number of guests – meaning that everyone get’s plenty of time on circuit, without having to queue. The day is strictly for Caterham and Lotus Seven vehicles – meaning that there won’t be any pesky hatchbacks and thunderous supercars clogging up the corners. Created for all different levels of driver, the event is open to both novice and experienced track day enthusiasts. Please note, the day is tailored for those who own non-race vehicles, meaning that both road legal and non-road legal vehicles are permitted. Other than Academy and Roadsport-spec vehicles (which are road legal), no race vehicles can participate. Because the event is being organised by Caterham Cars and run by MSV then, unlike a typical Club track day, there are no restrictions on the type of roll-over bars – opening up the opportunity for a much wider field of participants than is typically the case. Please note that as the day is not being organised by the Club then Caterham and Lotus 7 Club third party insurance does not apply. Experienced instructors will be on hand during the day, helping drivers familiarise themselves with the circuit and get the most out of their Sevens out on track. Instruction sessions can be added as an additional option at the time of booking together with additional drivers, passengers and garage spaces. The experienced group at the Castle Combe Novice day on 3rd May is sold out but there are places available in the novice group on that day. Hi Mark I have asked all the circuits for availability next year and I am waiting on replies with dates from most of them including MSV ( Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park, Snetterton, Donington, Oulton Park). I have dates penciled in at Castle Combe, Croft and Anglesey but nothing is ever confirmed until the Motor Racing Calendar is confirmed. I then take my plan to the Leadership team for approval. This event is run by MG’s on Track at North Weald and is designed for novice drivers. I am very sorry to have to tell you that Mallory Park Circuit have cancelled our trackday on September 13th 2021. I was very surprised and disappointed when Mallory Park advised me of this as no circuit has ever done this to us before. I have tried to find a replacement but there is nothing available at a similar time at a suitable price as trackdays are very popular this year. Regards Simon Maitland

We are now running a Lotus Seven Club exclusive day for Lotus Seven and Caterham cars only. The format of our Croft and Mallory Park trackdays has changed because we are no longer sharing these days with the MX5 Owners club. I am regularly asked if we can run Open Pit Lane (OPL) groups for those drivers who are not novices and also if we can run more trackday’s for novices. We have therefore decided to make the most of this opportunity as follows. We will be running two groups every hour at both Croft and Mallory Park. The first group will be a 40 minute open pit lane session every hour for Intermediate and Experienced drivers. The second group will be a 20 minute session every hour for novice drivers. We will recruit additional instructors for the novice group and there will be no additional charge for this instruction. This is the first time we have had the chance to have exclusivity at these two circuits and the first time we have run this format. Tell your novice trackday friends that we are offering a great opportunity tailor made for novices. Please also tell your friends who prefer OPL that we are offering OPL all day. Hi Steve. Chris is correct Bedford is one of the strictest circuits on Noise (101db static and 87.5db drive by) so with a standard exhaust you should be fine. Caterhams are great cars and you will have fun owning one. Regards Simon

Hi Mark The circuits have not advised us what the covid rules regarding spectators will be this summer. Hopefully with good progress with vaccinations we will be able to have spectators but at this stage we have to wait and see. Simon M
