  1. Jonathan, I felt the same, certainly with the 420R as the rad top hose is super stiff and forced to an angle which it doesn't naturally sit at. I've subsequently redesigned the hose work on the 420R, inserting a silicon section to reduce vibration from the stiff hose and also modified the hangers, to further improve the suppression of vibration and overall stress. However this failure is on the 620R which already benefits from soft silicon hoses which are correctly routed without stress. I've also remove the failed radiator and it doesn't appear to be misaligned or under any undue pressure.
  2. Happy New Year All, My New Year hasn't started too well, with my 620R suffering a failed radiator. That's a total of 4 failed rads when factoring those on my 420R, at least its the first on my 620R. I intend to replace the radiator with a Radtec unit as I know many owners speak very highly of their products. I've also noticed the following advisory on the Radtec website about coolant being a potential cause for the regular failures. https://www.radtec.co.uk/news/index/coolant-advisory Taking onboard the advise for the rad is one thing mind, I'm wondering if such coolant is compatible with the Ford Duratec and other parts Caterham fit, even say the submarine temp housing for example. Googling "blue glycol" seems a bit of a minefield too as most web based documentation on coolants focus on OAT/HOAT/IAT/ and so forth. Has anyone else made the switch, what your experience been like? Also can anyone provide greater knowledge with respect to "blue glycol". Thanks For those interested I've covered the matter in my latest blog post https://www.caterham7diaries.com/post/happy-new-leak
  3. Starting to think I'll fit the CC kit to my 420R and move the JAL rear LEDs to the 620R.
  4. Hey JV, I've confirmation via the Facebook 620 owners group that at least x1 620S and x1 620R are good. I suspect I'm in the clear of that the reverse light issue. Just the routing to solve. Thanks
  5. When I built my 420R, the fuel float was fitted incredibly poorly, and it never registered correctly, so I was forced into removing my boot floor to fix that. I too needed to remove the pump control module, I believe I used a combination socket extensions to get up through the gap. I did blog about it here, if I can do it, it's not that difficult. I'm sure once' unbolted it drops free. On my 620R it's just going to be a massive faff that I'm not eager to get into. There's the suspension reservoirs and all the extra bracing in the boot. I'm starting to wonder if the large round plugs can be dissembled, or replaced, so the cable can be feed through.
  6. I had the Caterham solution originally fitted to my 620R, however it's now been replaced with the PGM solution. The reasoning is the fitment clearance and compression within one of the hose joints. The Caterham solution works fine, but I came to recognise that independents (and myself) would struggle refitting unless they know the exact process to refit etc, some may even be unhappy with the fitment. The PGM solution doesn't have the same fitment issue. Both perform similarly with respect to cooling on the road and circuit.
  7. hahaha. It's been awhile since I've done anything practical on either of my Sevens. I'm starting to remember why now. 🤣 I didn't know this issue existed. Thanks for the heads up . On the off chance, has anyone retro fitted on a 620R, just in case the inclusion of the Sadev, helps mitigate the wiring issue mentioned by Jonathan. Thanks

  9. Hey All, I'm starting to look at my winter upgrades, starting with fitting Caterham's rear LED light upgrade to the back of the 620. Having been moaned at throughout the year for running the standard lights on circuit, it's time to finally fit the kit I bought from Caterham on their launch. I've watched the install video from Caterham a couple of times, and concluded the video shows the new sub loom being run under the fuel tank bracket at the very rear of the chassis. Not sure I really want to do that, suspect it will be very exposed and it's a bit of a naff solution. Has anyone found a solution to this, so that the loom can be routed within the chassis as per the original wiring. Removing the boot floor for me isn't ideal as I've already upgraded the suspension with external canisters mounted in the boot, so there's a tonne of work just to get the boot floor up. Any assistance or recommendations really appreciated. Or should I concede the need for external routing, Thanks
  10. Hope you had a good run around the course, the weather was certainly good. I guess Ballacraine might have been busy it being Tynwald day. Let me know if you need anything, additional routes or anything really. I'll pm you my mobile number. If you are looking for another route try; Douglas to Ballasalla via Braaid & St Marks; onto Castletown, then Port Erin via Gansey Bay, once on the outskirts of Port Erin head towards The Sloc, and stay on the road until you hit Foxdale. A pit stop in Port Erin for an Ice cream on the prom is worth it. Cheers,
  11. Shout out to the UK plate 'Green' Seven on the Isle of Man, seen today parking around 11:45am on the Bottle neck car park (near Sea terminal). Would have stopped to say hello but had an appointment, plus you need to pay when going through the barrier.
  12. Cadwell was a fantastic experience, thank you Simon, James and the wider team for putting on such a fantastic day!
  13. Video I shot from my last session, I was absolutely shattered, wrists and neck were gone!
  14. I was there. Red white and gold 620R very similar to the Caterham Cup cars.
  15. Hey All, Just wondering if anyone from the club is attending the date run by Caterham and the Lotus Silverstone franchise dealer. cheers
  16. Thanks James, Carbon ones had crossed my mind. Do you recommend a particular brand?
  17. Hey All, Weird one this. My passenger side Caterham half door loves to inflate itself on the inside when on circuit. I guess air is getting forced in at speed. There's a reasonable bit of resistance when pushing the air back out. All the stitching looks intact. Has anyone else experienced this issue, any tips to fix? I don't particularly want to cut it open and glue it. Cheers appreciate any recommendations
  18. Thanks for that. Watched Rob's video and that's what I thought, I just very surprised that the bottom leg restraints went over the top buckles. Good to see Rob's video confirm this.
  19. Hi, I need some advice regarding fitment of the Schroth 6 point harness as supplied by Caterham. I unraveled the lower belts which are on a loop fastening from how they were shipped, and I cant for the life of me work out how they are supposed to be fitted. The manual isn't particularly clear either. Any help appreciated.
  20. Gave the hotel a ring. They were super helpful, but sadly not really very specific, so I can't tell for sure. I'll try the circuit or LoT. see if they've any specific arrangements.
  21. I'm looking to book the date in March. Anyone know what the security is like at the Hilton onsite? Just wondering about the trailer etc.
  22. Not sure what's in the front, it's the original pad from factory. I don't want to remove my handbrake, sounds like I need to stick with the default pad combo and suck up the costs.
  23. Hmm, any recommendations on a vented disc?
