  1. "I was also contacted by someone off this thread by BM only. When I replied his message disappeared from my inbox and my reply did not appear to go out. The guy signed his note as 'Ste'. He was asking for the lenses - but they have already been taken by johnnyseven." That would have been me (funnily enough). I didn't get a response from you.
  2. Open with a clear statement about what it is and then spell out the good bits. You've hidden some gems about its spec in here. Caterham Classic. Very low mileage, Caterham Classic for sale. Usual classic spec but benefiting from the following desirable options: 6 Speed Gearbox BMW diff Yokohama AO48 tyres Leather Seats Lowered Floors Full Harnesses Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge Full weather equipmentEngine upgraded by well-renowned K series engine guru DVA. Gas flowed head Piper Cams Verniers pulleys Jenvey throttle bodies Emerald ecu Powerspeed 4-2-1 exhaustProven 160bhp and 125lbft giving R300 performance. I purchased this from Caterham Cars 4 years ago and am only selling as I've upgraded to a Superlight R500*. *Added something like this back in in case you still want to field that question in your advert. Keep it at the bottom though.
  3. That's a standard question and one I've never understood. However, in your case the answer is simple: "It's such a great car and I enjoyed it so much I bought an R500." Don't refer to anything but the car for sale in the advert though, save it for the chat when they get in touch. That first contact is just as much about you determining if they're a time wasters as it is for them to find out more details about the car you're selling. Don't be afraid to be brief with them, if they're actually interested they'll want to arrange to come and view the car. Save any haggling for that point when they're stood in front of it and are actually offering to complete the transaction.
  4. Your 'advert' on here (this thread) is entitled 'Car for sale'. Your advert on Pistonheads simply says 'Caterham'. You need to do more work for the buyer. At least describe the model of the car in the title. Your advert main photo primarily shows a different car that you aren't selling and then your advert text breaks sentences over separate lines and still doesn't tell me the model of the car. Buyers are lazy. They also want to be enthralled and actually sold something. You're advert is ambiguous and even as a Caterham enthusiast leaves me confused and needing to go and do research before I can understand just what it is you're trying to sell. Meant as constructive feedback, hope it's taken that way.
  5. Yep received them and the quality is good. I've got a buildthread on pistonheads. I'd have done something on here instead but the forum software makes that kind of thing quite difficult and there isn't really a relevant section for a buildthread to fit. Pics etc in here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=47&t=1721704&i=0
  6. I phoned softbits and they made me a bootcover for my S3, without hoodsticks and with FIA bar. They didn't need any more info or measurements than that and it fits perfectly.

    Silicone hoses?

I've just removed my blue silicone ones and fitted a set of black silicone Samco ones that look infinitely better. For info, Samco's lead time is >10 weeks at the moment. http://www.stenelson.co.uk/caterham/slr39.jpg http://www.stenelson.co.uk/caterham/slr40.jpg
  8. Wasn’t standard on the SLR as far as I can tell. My original order lists the uprated MC and addition of a bias valve as an optional extra. Cost at the time of buying the car was £109.39.
  9. I've got a full set of used 13" Toyo R888s 185/60/13 x2 205/60/13 x2 Shout if they can help.
  10. I recently put new decals on mine after a full respray. I measured where the previous ones were as a reference. However, looking at even factory built cars the position of them seems to vary, so I don't think there is necessarily a 'right' location.
  11. My SLR also has the plastic plugs with the yellow insert. Nick, do you have pics of the lowered headlight brackets fitted on the car and do you know where they are from?
  12. I still have my KV6 ITBS. They're safely in a box in the garage should I ever want to restore the originality! I'd have probably kept them on but a previous owner had already made the swap.
  13. Thanks Simon. Nice coincidence, I called into PGM and they advised I speak to you. I then phoned you before I'd seen that you'd posted in here. Thanks for the chat, look forward to hearing about availability.
  14. Mine has an Innovate wideband Lambda on it. Good kit IME and I'm sure will be in no small part why mine is so tractable. Obviously it needs someone who knows what they're doing with the software too, but it makes things much easier.
  15. Nice tip Alan, thanks. How long away is your delivery? Would be great if you could report back once you receive them.
  16. I cracked the NSR carbon arch on my car and want to replace it. I realise that getting a good match with the opposite rear arch from a different supplier will be all but impossible, so I'm willing to buy both sides. I bought a set from Westermann Motorsport 3 months ago and they finally arrived today. Unfortunately the quality is appalling and I'll be sending them back. What they claim as a carbon arch is actually a heavy, thick lump of GRP with a carbon strip over part of the top face. So, where do a I source a set of good quality carbon rear arches, or is direct from Caterham for ££££ my best hope? The price of the Caterham ones puts me off, but also that my car is a K series and the new Caterham arches don't have the near-side lower cut out. Alternatively, does anyone have a genuine Caterham original NSR arch from a late-'90s for sale? Thanks!
  17. Id follow TomB's advice above but would also be suspecting TPS or temp sensor.
  18. OP, for reference mine starts and idles, even from stone cold like a normal family hatchback. No histrionics or fuss; turn the key and it fires up and idles very evenly. It also pulls at all revs with no flat-spots or stuttering. Mine has verniers and an Emerald but also has Jenvey DTH ITBs fitted. I wouldn't have thought the jenveys make all of the difference though and your issues sound more mapping or sensor related.
  19. Simon, are you saying the Kumho V70 is better than the Avon ZZR on track? I'm a big ZZR fan, have used them on other cars as well as the Caterham and found them to be fantastic. I even used them right through winter on the road in my Elises. I think they're amazing tyres - perfectly useful on the road but also a great track tyre. They clear water well too in the rain but are compromised by large areas of standing water, like all tyres of the ilk. Only real downside of them in my experience is that they are a heavy tyre. I've no experience of the V70 but keen to try them if they may be better than the ZZR.
  20. Cage wanted for Imperial car, ideally ‘double D’ SLR cage. Anyone got one? Thanks!
  21. Yep, comes out without removing the primaries.
  22. Assume this is a metric one Simon? I'm also in Horsham so could collect easily. Do you have a rollbar yet or need one? I plan to take the FIA bar off mine and fit a cage, so will have the bar spare.
  23. Which helmet supports are they? I've seen a few different designs.
